1/6 Forrest Gump in Vietnam

Here's a fun one I'm finally done with.
Forrest Gump in Vietnam.


"Get Down! Shut Up!"
(I also re-tooled my RTO and brought Lt. Dan with me.)





Two things right off, he had a green helmet band instead of black, and also grey duct-tape
instead of black on the spare radio battery on his pack.


The hardest part was finding out his exact gear load-out, and his helmet graffiti.




"Gotta find Bubbaaaa!"

nicely done, where did you get the head from? also can you send a breakdown of parts. i have a spare platoon i could start with. thanks

Thanks man!
The head is from one of ACE toy's Vietnam figures, from Operation Delaware. Gave him a body swap as the Ace buck is quite bad.
The web gear, rifle and helmet are also Ace. He's got a HT Ruck, from their Platoon line.
He has a Soldiers Of the World BDU, as the cut was more accurate than Ace's offering (their jacket is way too short)
The woobie is a GI Joe or Action Man poncho, I've cut it up and used some with Lt. Dan as well, though it needs to be much greener to better match the parachute pattern.

He has a metal ALICE frame from a Soldier Story figure, modified (not entirely accurate, still, but when loaded with gear and such not a big deal)

Very cool! My only complaint? No socks. Gotta take care of your feet (just a little inside joke). Beautiful!

Of course...after I finish the figure, I find a perfect head.



Have ordered it, will update once I get it in.

The hs you found is maybe more movie accurate, but has less resemblance to Tom than the one you already have.
Just my 2 cents, by the way great custom.
