I met him years ago here in Toronto. Very nice man.

This is indeed sad news and he will be missed, but he left an ever lasting legacy on cinema.

Tobe, you will be sorely missed.

Damn. I actually like Poltergeist and Texas Chainsaw part 2 more than his original film. Those are all in the upper echelon of horror films in my mind, each distinctive and innovative in its own way, and I consider him one of the true giants of the genre.
 
Yep devastated by the news he made some of my favorite horror films of all times... Rest in peace Mr. Hooper thanks for the great horror flicks. Your legacy will live on... :(

I just so happened to re watch the original film with my friend the Friday before Tobe's death (It was my friends first time to see it). I also PO'd the statue that same day as well. His films will live on for sure RIP!
