From one of the top 1/6 studios in Asia, Black 13 Park 2017 Annual Release - Fujita-Kun and You Ko's Otaku Fantasy War 1/6 Scale Action Figures

This series is of special meaning that it is BLACK 13 PARK's first attempt at full body 1/6 scale female robot, which also has secret connection to the Shark Brother series.

*In case you are curious about the Shark Brothers

B13 is going to invest the whole year of 2017 in R&D and production just for these two figures. No more new product is planned for the rest of the year.

The two figures will be packed separately in boxes of different style. Fujita-Kun will be released in Q4 2017, while You Ko in Q1 2018.

The style of this series draws concepts from urban warfare and Japanese Otaku culture, heavily inspired by classic anime/manga/game such as "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain", "Ghost in The Shell" and "I Am a Hero". By creating these figures, B13 hopes to pay homage to all those amazing anime/manga/game that we all grew up with.

In addition to a standard head sculpt, Fujita-Kun also comes with two Akita Inu dog heads with different expression. You Ko comes with a head with normal expression and a second one with armor-open rage face.

First Edition Special Gift:
1. Smiling Akita Inu dog head for Fujita-Kun
2. Open hands for You Ko
3. Special head sculpt for the upcoming B13 Black Lab series 5th anniversary edition

Background story:

Fujita-Kun was a typical Otaku, obsessed with models, video games, weapons and anime girls. He would spend a whole day either sitting at home or visiting Akihabara with friends. His biggest pleasure in life was to indulge himself in his fantasy world, where he imagined the outbreak of a war that will threaten the world, and he will be the hero to save the day with powerful weapons developed by him.

In Fujita-Kun's fantasy world, a robot girl named You Ko fights alongside with him. She is built by Fujita and has high level of artificial intelligence. You Ko has the face and body of an anime girl, but packed with superior fire power. She is Fujita-Kun's most reliable battle mate, also provides emotional support when he needs it.

One day the Shark Brothers showed up and told Fujita-Kun a huge secret - his fantasy is not fantasy after all! He thought everything only exists in his mind, but it turns out they are all real.

Fujita-Kun used to work for the same mercenary organization that hired the Shark Brothers. His specialty was weapon and equipment development, he was also a sharp shooter. Unknown to Fujita-Kun, the mercenary company secretly injected the gene modification serum into his body. However, the serum caused serious side effect - Fujita-Kun lost his memory as a weapon specialist, only returned home to live the simple life as a day dreaming Otaku.

The source of the gene modification serum Fujita-Kun received - the legendary gunslinger Billy the Kid from the Wild Wild West!

After learning about his true identity, Fujita-Kun decided to join the Shark Brothers to seek revenge against the mercenary organization and look for other people who had also received the gene modification injection. As a companion, he brought with him his newly finished robot girl - You Ko, fully charged...

Metal Gear Big Boss fans rejoice.

This is your golden chance to own an prosthetic arm without paying an arm or leg.

i'm buying the set anyway. Black 13 Park figure has always been impressively detailed but the price tag usually shuns people out and due to them being steampunkish i think most collectors never picked up the line.

Judging by the reaction here, I'll say you sir are absolutely correct.:lol

I do wish their price is a bit more accessible so that more people get to experience these brilliant and unique creation. But since a lot of parts are handmade and the quantity is quite limited, plus the fact that they are always sold out, then followed by a secondary market price that rivals mortgage payment, there must be a reason it is where it is.

resell market not that much for them. ebay only have few on sales, price wise, don't think they are that much more than retail.

thing is they aren't really marketing themselves to the mass audiences. and rarely you see any reviews of their items because they are rare. i'm impressed they put alot of details into things that you won't actually get to see on display unless you play around with them.

getting this set due to it's modern style, however, IMO this release is somewhat lacking in details compared to their previous releases. there's really not much gimmick or hidden gem in them. i'm sure if they wanted, they could have added more details in the female. And there's no hidden skull or internals for that Dog head. Normally you get the X-ray level of details of both the main & alternate heads.

Oh no no, by "secondary market" I certainly did not mean eBay.:lol There is a whole other world out there. If you go to taobao.com and search by "BLACK 13 PARK", the result is 7 pages long. There are many other hits if you go by other related keywords. Price wise, the Shark Brother 3rd year anniversary set is going for nearly double its original retail price. You can just look and get an idea.

At the moment, I don't think they are really motivated to market themselves outside the Asian market, which is more than enough to keep them busy all year long. We however hope to change that and raise more brand awareness here.

This set is more comparable to the Shark Brothers series. The layered head and other gimmicks is the signature design of their "Black Laborary" series, in which one figure is priced about the same as this set of two figures.

The Black 13 Park Fujita Kun and You Ko are some really innovative figures. In case anyone is curious, I took a few pictures of them in action – there’s certainly nothing else quite like them in my collection. Thanks, Hobby Galaxy – you’re a great store to do business with.

Fujita Kun and You Ko 1 Upgrading Themselves.jpg
Upgrading Themselves
Otaku and amnesiac inventor Fujita Kun creates many weapons – but his greatest creations are his android companion You Ko, and his own cybernetic arm.

Fujita Kun and You Ko 2 On the Lam.jpg
On the Lam
Pursued by mercenaries, Fujita Kun seeks out others like him who received the experimental gene modification serum – the one that gave him the sharpshooting skills of Billy the Kid.

Fujita Kun and You Ko 3 Undistressed Damsel.jpg
Undistressed Damsel
Fujita Kun is very protective of You Ko, and tries to shield her from harm. But as these would-be thieves are about to find out, this well-armed android doesn’t need much protection!

Fujita Kun and You Ko 4 Hunted Heroes.jpg
Hunted Heroes
Fujita Kun is fairly careful, but sometimes mercenaries manage to catch up to him. One surprised him with a bullet in the leg – and enraged, You Ko leaps to the defense of her creator.

Headquarters Attack
Fujita Kun and You Ko learn many startling truths in their struggle with the mercenary army, but at last, they find the masterminds – their final battle begins!

becareful with the black shirts they will stain the body. my advise would be wrap plastic wrappers on the body where the black fabric will come into contact.

Potato – thanks for the advice. Do you mean that in general, or specifically with Black 13 Park products? These are my first B13P figures, but they don’t seem particularly worse than the industry average. You might have more historical knowledge than me of the company, though.

The Fujita-Kun shirt comes already on the figure in the box, and I have taken it on and off now repeatedly, including putting it on other figures, and it has not left any stain (unlike, say, the stains on the otherwise incredible QMX Picard). His hat did leave a small smudge on the side of his forehead, but it’s not like he can be posed without the hat or hood, so I didn’t think it was a big deal.

I only put the black hoodie on You Ko once, for those two pictures (she doesn’t come wearing it). So it was only on for half an hour, tops, but there was no discoloration in that small period. I’ll be careful of it going forward, though.

The other three figures in black clothes are not from B13P and their outfits are color-fast – most of them I’ve had for quite a while.

dark fabric stains when in prolonged contact with other parts. happens everywhere including the T-shirt you buy for yourself. especially in areas like hat, collar, socks, sleeves.

some folks sayin if you take out the black fabric and soak in luke warm water and let it dry it reduces the chance of staining.

since dark fabrics uses dye that most of the time come off. that is why clothes manufacturer always state wash dark fabrics separately. also there are air dry dyes which don't stick as good as oven dried ones.

areas where it come in contact with fabric but may be exposed like arm, wrist, knee etc may not look good if you change the pose and exposed the stained areas.

All great tips. If properly treated first, though, staining shouldn’t be a problem even with dark fabrics. Look at the old Dragon Star Trek Picard vs. the new QMX one. The black fabric has not left stains on the older ones, even after three years, because the dye was set and treated right (although that’s about the only thing superior about it).

That said, being careful is great advice, and I thank you for it. If I’m in doubt, I have cheap Ken dolls that I can put an outfit on for a while, and see if a stain is left behind. Once a manufacturer has ‘proved’ themselves to me, though, I tend to trust them.
