So EON announced that Bond 25 will be released on November 8 in 2019, and Daniel Craig returning is a "done deal" according to the New York Times.

With Craig promoting Logan Lucky over the next few weeks, I'd expect some confirmation one way or the other.

Glad to hear Craig is returning. I'd like him to have a nice solid ending as Bond. Casino Royale is still the best Bond performance and movie.

I wonder if Nolan will direct the film? He has expressed interest in directing a Bond film, but if Daniel Craig is indeed returning, I don't know if that will affect in any way Nolan's involvement. I can't see Nolan wanting his "vision" of Bond to be associated with the previous films by having the same actor playing Bond. I would rather see Nolan introduce a new actor as Bond, and recently he said that Tom Hardy would be a great James Bond. Maybe after Bond 25, Nolan will tackle the franchise.

The time is right. Betting this will be Nolan's next movie- writing and directing

Nolan said he'd only do Bond when Bond really needs it. I agree with the fact that Nolan might see Craig as 'someone else's Bond'. If he were to jump in, it seems he would once Craig departs and he has some say in casting. He's the type that would want to be very hands-on and have a great impact -- it would be 'Nolan's Bond'.

That said, I truly don't think Nolan is what Bond needs. Hell, after Skyfall, Bond is basically a rip-off of Nolan's style as it is now.

What Bond needs desperately is energy, momentum, pacing and a great villain. And its needs to be a lot more entertaining than it has been.

I'm amazed they wanted Craig back. Guy just seemed so indifferent about having the role during the SPECTRE publicity...or worse, like he was actually sick of it.

Mind you - maybe he knew SPECTRE was an overlong snoozer of a film and he didn't like pretending otherwise.

Anyway hopefully they get it back on track.

It seems like he was more bashing the fans bashing his take on Bond. I'm a Connery guy, but in love Craig's take.

Glad it's Craig because it means we at least have another few years where people can piss off about some SJW change.

I would love a one and done film of Nolan with Hardy as Bond. Keep it classic and I think Hardy can manage it.

They wasted two years already. Now another two. Craig Bonds take 3-4 years between films ... and we get a mild police procedural? Connery era cranked them out every year and made the best ones.

There's got to be a balance. I liked having one every two years. Seemed long enough to plan a Bond film. They are not rocket science and they are never that clever. Three years max, but then the movie better be damned entertaining.

Four years to watch Craig brood through 2.5 hours of wardrobe changes and picturesque villas with tediously slow music and boring action sequences.

The last great Bond action sequence was the construction site chase in Casino Royale. Nothing since has come remotely close.

I think Bond needs to be more like Kingsman, with less humor, but with the same overall quality of action, visuals, and world building, which is what the 60's and 70's Bond films were known for, instead of realism. Kingsman embraces the "British culture", and the 60's era of Bond spy films, but with a modern touch, and a certain quality that the Pierce Brosnan films didn't have in the 90's and early 2000's, before Bond went "realistic" or "Nolanised."

The Daniel Craig films are almost like a reaction to the previous campy Bond movies, very much like the Nolan Batman was a reaction to the Schumacher Batman, and they work because of that, but Kingsman really shows that "campiness" can work if done correctly. The Craig films even make fun of the silly gadgets from the old films as a way to distant themselves from the franchise, but maybe they need step should be embracing the classic formula.

Well in all fairness very few bond action scenes touch that chase scene beforehand either.

Love CR and Skyfall. Enjoyed skyfall the first time but the re-watch is a chore. QoS was wack.

I wanted to love Skyfall because it was the first time they had what looked to be a classic villain. But it was such a Nolan Joker rip-off -- and after such an obvious steal, the plot didn't even make any sense -- that it just pissed me off and I retreated back to the good old Bonds of yesterday.

No, I don't think Skyfall is a good Bond. A good one of the Craigs, which isn't saying much.

Which are your favorite Bond movies? Top 10...or overall ranking of your favorites.

Nolan:
A Bond movie, definitely. I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.

The Bond v Batista fight in Spectre was up there with some of the classic Bond v Henchman fights, it was quick and didn't drag on and it left it open to whether Batista survived. The car chase when Bond pushes the little old man in his Fiat was something out of your old school Bond films, I liked these nods to the classic Bond era but for some reason the film doesn't make me want to watch it again. The opening drags on far too long, the end seems like it was tacked on for no other reason than give the film closure. That said I haven't seen anyone better than Daniel Craig to take the role...it's down to the writers to give him a story worthy of the Connery films.

Goldfinger
Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
