I have been reading as many threads as I can find here regarding display cabinet setups and lighting solutions.
One thing I have rarely seen mentioned is the Color Rendering Index (CRI) of the LED lights people are using. There is talk of color temperature i.e. 3000K vs 5000K vs 6000 K but not much about CRI.
To me CRI should be considered more important that color temperature as it will result in you seeing your pieces the way the artist intended they look by accurately presenting the color palette. I have found CRI values for LEDs online as high as 92 (with 100 being perfect) but I don't see folks here talking about it much or even seeing it described in the specs of the LED lights they are using. Most of what I see sold at Ikea has a CRI around 80-85.
