I think it would be better if buying a RS Prop Masters or even Anovos helmet, chest/back armor and shoulder bells, and make you own bust. Will be more accurate for sure.

My bet is that doing what you suggested will be cheaper. In addition to that, you can also wear it. You don't have to but it's nice to have options.

I'm definitely going to be interested in seeing the helmet. SS has never gotten their Stormtrooper helmets right.
