Sculpted vs Rooted Hair on Figures

Personally all the rooted customs I've seen on here pretty much always look better than a sculpt and I don't mind having to groom it to get the look I'd want. I haven't seen posts with people complaining about rooted hair coming out over time. Is that a real concern overall or just bad luck in some individual cases from factory production with that option?

Cost is a factor. I can't deny that. Otherwise I'd be looking for a local artist to be rooting all my 6th scale figures (not that I have many...yet).
