Has anyone ever used an aluminum extrusion to mount your LED tape to glass or regular shelves? I know LEDs like to dissipate heat and aluminum is commonly used. I thought this would be a good way to angle the light, hide the LEDs, and diffuse the heat.

Heat is not a really serious problem with LED, your figures are pretty much safe with it (LED does generate heat but not infrared wave which is the real problem), I actually like the neatness that it give.

yes, I used these aluminum extrusions with my Besta unit. They worked great, and I screwed them into the top shelf no problem.

Do you have any pics? Also, which aluminum extrusions are these exactly? I might do the same soon..

I believe the aluminum tracks I'm using have the same profile as the one you posted. I got them from AliExpress, came with the clips /extrusions/clear coverings for around.

Here's a link to what I got

How it's mounted, bracket is fastened to shelves, and light is clipped into the bracket

How far it hangs from shelf

And you can't see them when you use the Glassvik doors

Wow man that looks awesome! Sorry to be annoying, but would you mind telling me which lights you used and how they are wired? I can't see any wires from the mounts.. I'd like to make a similar setup for myself!

Looking to build/buy my first display case soon...

I used the LED strips on the 5m rolls.

I wire them myself and use swtiches like these

I hid the wires running from the front of the case to the back by tucking the light into the top corner and putting black tape over them.

I finally got my display cases completed and thought I would share what I did.

Sorry for the sideways pictures. I'm too lazy to fix them.
