I think the big guy is to make it look like she's on the battlefield.... But I think it would look better if they removed him.... one thing I really like is a lot of the armor is removable to give her a more common Batgirl look...

This pose is just awesome, getting ready unsheathe her sword and throw a batarang (optionally) while in mid leap... awesome, just awesome.
