So, I've had three Medicom Bobas, and a couple of Marmit Bobas sitting around for about six or seven years. Finally decided to do something with them. Aside from the ESB Boba I have planned, I wanted to do something sort of unique. I see a lot of people bashing 1/6 versions of the Mythos Boba, but I always felt that it's just too similar to the ROTJ with a few added parts.

I've always been partial to several aspects of the different pre-pro suits, specifically, the pre-pro 2 yellow gauntlet. I've decided to make my own Mythos Fett with a combination of all the different pre-pro parts I like. Yellow gauntlet, mismatched chest armour, Jaig eyes etc. along with several of my own ideas of a post-Sarlaac escape Boba.

So far, I've done a few things such as made chest armour from scratch, and modified a few things. In particular, I've pretty much completed the pre-pro 2 left gauntlet aside from paint and hoses. I still need to adjust the aluminum connections for the flame unit, because it's a pretty tight fit for the arm inside at the moment, and the flame unit is sitting a little further out than I would like. I also added a bit of functionality, so it can telescope out, as it looks like the 1:1 was able to do it. Or at least it looks like it did, since it looks like there are different lengths from one photo to the next.

I like your thought process, can't wait to watch this project advance. :clap

Little progress. I've got him looking sufficiently lanky as he does in the prepro test shots. The collar armour is currently just a paper to gauge the proper size and shape.

Also toying with the idea of a few extra accessories. Specifically, a couple of extra helmets. Currently working on one of the McQ concept helmets.

This guy is gonna have quite a few Barbie style accessories to play dress up with. Couple of helmets, a scarf, a duster, poncho/sandtrooper style pauldron combo, extra set of gauntlets, etc..

Little progress made on the McQ concept bucket.

And I've worked on getting the dye for the jumpsuit right on some scraps. Various lengths of time spent in the dye. Pouch in center is original colour. Bottom right hand side is what I'm going with, It will be weathered and slightly faded afterward to give it the greyish colour, and pigmented to make it dirty.

And finally, mocked up a scarf on one of the spare Medicom Boba's I had laying around. It'll be dyed a tan colour and weathered.

Little update. Jumpsuit and scarf dyed. Getting closer to the colour I want. Swapped body to a modified Medicom. Reinforced shoulders and hips. Extended legs and added HT connectors to wrists and ankles. Finished minor resculpt to right gauntlet. Scratch built the sash/belt. Need to make some buckles for the back. Going for the more saggy look seen in some pre-pro pics.

I'm not sure what the type of fabric is called, but I just got about 20cm of a bolt in Spotlight. I just got lucky, as it was exactly what I was looking for. They had a few different shades of white (off-white, beige etc.), but I just got the flat white and dyed it using Dylon Pebble Beige. Once the dye had taken, I gave it a quick wash in an extremely diluted bowl of water and dark grey/black acrylic paint.

Hey Alice thanks for that I'll check out my Spotlight store today.

Not a PT fan, but I'm a Tamuera fan, and I've always liked the head sculpt from the Hasbro Ultimate Jango. Was slightly too big for 1/6, so I gave it a couple of dips in acetone to shrink it a bit. I would love to have a head sculpt that resembles a young Bullock, but I haven't found one yet. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Woah that's nuts! Dipping it in acetone shrinks it? What material is that- CX5?

It's vinyl. When soaked in acetone the vinyl absorbs it and expands. After it has expanded, letting it dry out for a day or so allows the acetone it's absorbed to evaporate. Due to the acetone evaporating, it contracts causing shrinkage.

This head was dipped three times for between three and four hours each dip.

Really interesting! Thank you for the explanation and keep up the good work!

Got a few new parts today. Picked up a Sideshow DC-15, the pre-pro concussion grenade launcher and HT Han's DL-44 (in my expanded universe Boba killed Han and took his blaster as a souvenir.)

Currently, further modifying the Medicom body. In the process of recasting some of the brittle plastic parts that have a tendency to break on Medicom figures. Hopefully, the new resin cast parts will make the figure a bit sturdier. Also, working to get the body the correct size of Bullock's scaled 5' 10" stature. While doing that I'm working on improving the range of articulation as well.

About halfway done with the glove patches. Sculpted a set, and am in the process of casting copies. Three sets down, three to go. Once they're done they'll be heated up, shaped to the hands and epoxied on.

Body mods almost done. Replaced all of the broken parts, and got him to the scale 29cm he should be. Just need to finish shaving down the left bicep and strengthen the wrists and ankles. The silhouette is getting pretty close to the lean body type Bullock had in the suit.

I'm not happy with the Medicom vest. The tailoring is top notch, but even with the slight mods I did to the Medicom body, it's just too tight. Restricts articulation, and doesn't look as baggy as it should. Was thinking of getting a Hot Toys vest, but decided, instead of spending $50 on it, to just go buy a sewing machine and make my own. In this shot he's wearing a placeholder vest pattern to see exactly how big it should be. The armor pieces are just held on with poster putty at this point.

Also, started painting the gloves. Here's the first one close to complete. Once I get everything done they'll be weathered a bit.
