Hello Folks,

Like many here, I have been holding my breath since many months to see Tombo doors coming back where I live (France) with its new name "Fiskviken". It was clear to me 1 month ago that all hopes were gone now to see this product available in any other country than Germany!

So here is what I did, I ordered 3 doors from IKEA Germany and had them shipped to a mail forwarder called Mailboxde.com
They received the package for me and reshipped the package to me by UPS to France.

Here is what it cost me:
-3x Tombo Doors: 75€
-Shipping to Germany to Mailboxde.com: 7€
-Shipping from https://www.mailboxde.com to me in France, using UPS service: 25€ including handling by the company

I found it a pretty cheap and fast solution to finally get the doors. https://www.mailboxde.com was very professional, had great communication (in English) and was lightning fast to ship my package, I can't recommend them enough... but then again, German people are always so professional and efficient folks it was not really a surprise lol.

Important note: the cardboard package used by IKEA was very light and poorly packaged. I received my doors with the package almost opened on every side and it was really a miracle that no apparent damage were done to the glass doors. UPS handled the package in a pretty rough manner at some point it seems.

I know https://www.mailboxde.com has an additional service which can strenghten your package before it is shipped to you and I strongly suggest you use that service because I think everyone won't be as lucky as I was!

Now.... that's some nice looking Besta ^^

Hmm I might have to look into this but shipping to the US will probably be pricey and there's a huge chance of breakage :/

Thanks for posting this - stupid question but the German facilities will not ship out of country unless you use a forwarder?? That's some BS if true.

I tried contacting MailBoxDE, but they said they're not able to transport Ikea cabinet glass doors due to them being extremely fragile... :(

Any chance you could give a direct contact or more detailed steps on what you did?

Yeah, guess if you want to do this you have to not tell MailBoxDE what you're shipping and risk them breaking... otherwise they won't ship them to the US. :(
