I THINK (but am not sure) that the idea originally came up in the Dark Horse comics - perhaps "Aliens: Rogue"? - although that is a human/alien hybrid.

Given the complexity (5 regular Aliens + the king) I can't help wondering if this was by Martin Canale & The Gore Group - the team who created the AvPR diorama

Alien King? No such thing. It goes against the whole bug/bee/hive, concept the Aliens were portrayed as.

Undecided on this piece untill we get more info on scale and maybe some info on where this idea is coming from.
Aliens really is based around a quenn/hive setup so throwing in a "King" really doesn't nake much sense, but they had to of thought of that already...right???

I just realised, if this was done in 1/9 scale (E.G. Halcyon's Alien3 styrene kit) - let alone larger like 1/6, it looks like it would be as tall as the Cinemaquette Predator 
Can't believe they will make it that size due to cost and space requirements.
Wonder what scale they'll end up announcing.

The right hand looks sculpted into the rock and at least from that angle don't care for the design. Seems like a missed "Queen" opportunity unless we are getting one of those too.
