Definitely agree with Million Dollar Baby.

I'll add Forrest Gump. Very depressing, the love of his life keeps coming and going, then comes back for good only to immediately die.

the green mile

The Plague Dogs.... (i cried)

Beasts of the Southern Wild

Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father... awful True story

Passion of the Christ

The Boy In The Striped Pajamas

The Road

Precious

just remember that Uwe Boll made one of the most depressing movies Ive seen based on a true story of a guy that is killed in prison

Stoic

Saving Private Ryan. A depressing film to me is one that leaves me sad at the end. E.T. didn't do that, nor did Forrest Gump, but this one left me in tears. I'll never watch it again for that reason.

ShawShank Redemption isn't depressing. Has a very rewarding and uplifting ending.

City of God

Drive

Virgin Suicides

I really want Sophia Coppola to make more movies.

the road
