PLEASE HELP!! Does anyone know about this rare collector series 12" Chewbacca

I picked up this 12" Chewbacca back in mid 90's. It has dark blue insert, upside down tie fighter on box and original released series 1 figurs on back. I heard that first Chewie was delayed because problems with fur falling off and some got accidentally released through a few mail order orders. I can not find anything on him or how rare it is. Here are pics compared with regular release with light blue insert. Any help appreciated.

yeah I remember the dark blue back ground don't know how much it`s going for but i think it used to be around 500.00 back then
