OK, since XM is the new kid on the block and obviously takes its customers feedback to heart, I thought it would be cool for us to list our most wanted 1/4 pieces by XM Studios. You just know XM will be watching this thread and I think it'll be a great place to discuss the pieces we want with the Reps of XM Studios.
As for the list...it can be as long or short as you want. I only ask that you list characters you would actually consider buying. I think this policy keeps the list manageable and realistic. Let's keep it a Marvel list for now. I know that there are rumors of a DC license but I (or someone else) will start up a thread for XM DC pieces in the DC section if that eventually comes to pass.
So, here it goes...my XM list.
1.) Colossus
2.) Storm
3.) Cyclops
4.) Nightcrawler
I love the Byrne/Cockrum era X-MEN and their costumes. I will purchase all of these characters in THOSE costumes. For example, I'm pretty much down for the new Phoenix statue that was sneaked. Love the piece and it looks to be pretty accurate (costume wise) to the Byrne era X-MEN. However, I will be passing on the XM Wolverine because I feel that too many liberties were taken with his costume. Too many lines and straps that just don't work for me in the Wolvie piece. I also considered passing on Magneto for the EXACT same reason but I was overwhelmed by just how spectacular the piece looked. Please keep this in mind when sculpting costumes on future statues. I personally love seeing costumes that are accurate to the comics that I read. I buy statues because they remind me of an era/run in comics I enjoyed reading and I want a statue to represent that on my display shelves. As a buyer, costume accuracy is very important to me.
5.) Dr. Doom
6.) Green Goblin
7.) Hulk
I would LOVE to see 1/4 fully sculpted pieces of these 3 characters. First off, Dr. Doom is one of the most popular villains in the Marvel U. He just has to be on XM's radar and a Buscema/Byrne styled statue of him would be irresistible for me. I'm probably going to pick up SSC's new standing Doom PF. However, I would sell him off and buy the XM Doom if it gets released and looks great.
Green Goblin is THE biggest baddie of Spidey in my book and is a must have character for me in 1/4 scale. I did not like SSC's GG PF and would certainly purchase an XM GG if it looked good.
I know that XM already has a Hulk statue just about to be released but I have to be honest and say that it is not my cup of tea. I'm looking for a modern raging styled Hulk. Something along the lines of a Deodato or Keown styled Hulk. No shirt please. He should be massive and ripped. I hoping for a Hulk with huge (and well defined) muscles in a dynamic pose with a modern face portrait. This is why I mentioned Deodato and Keown's artistic style. I think they do a great job illustrating a modern raging Hulk.
