The last time Jody Hill and Danny McBride teamed up with HBO, we got Eastbound and Down, one of the funniest shows and characters on TV. Apparently they've just signed another deal with HBO to produce a comedy called Vice Principals. It will be 18 episodes(possibly more). No real details on plot yet that I can find.

Anybody else watch this? It seems like the thread was abandoned before it even came out. Thus far, it's been hilarious. Cringey and awkward beyond all measure, at times, but hilarious, nonetheless.

Working in a school I can tell you they nailed it other than the cussing. Popcorn for iss kids? You betcha. This show is hilarious.

I've watched a little of it. Mostly because I like Goggins. Not terrible. Seems like the other lead is doing a Nick Offerman impression, though.

Holy ****ing ****. That ending left me...just...wow, that was unexpected.

I'll be honest, part of me thought we were going to get something like Brown going to the cops about the arson and next season would be Russell and Gamby vying for a managerial position at a Burger restaurant fresh out of the joint, so, consider me surprised when they actually pulled off their plan and became principals together. So, consider me completely mind****ed when, out of nowhere, Gamby gets ****ing shot.

I'm really curious to see where they go with it. I think it'd be kind of expected if Brown or Russell were behind it, so, there's a part of me that kind of hopes they go the unexpected and, probably, more realistic route and just have it be some crazy random dude or a student or something. Maybe the kid he threw in ISS for being bullied at the beginning. I could see that being an interesting premise for season 2. Maybe Russell's not behind it, but he gets used to the power dynamic of being the sole principal as Gamby is recuperating and thus begins a new era of hijinks and social warfare between the two.

The Jody Hill/Danny McBride combo is still a great recipe.

It was ****ing perfect. They closed it beautifully. That cameo at the last minute was FANTASTIC.

10/10 for the entire series.

I'm pretty sad that it's over. Not as sad as when The Leftovers ended but sad nonetheless.
