The 1:1 Ark of The Covenant Project

Because this will likely NEVER be offered as an officially licensed item, I'm part of a small group of folks working on building a fully screen-accurate 1:1 replica of the Ark from RAIDERS...

Here's a current progress photo of the prototype, which I took at my friend's workshop this weekend:



As you can see, it's getting close. But there's much work to do (and then a $3-4k gold chrome paint job to top it off ).

I'll update this thread as things develop for those interested.

Not sure if I want it as a collectible in the house, but it looks spot on, great job there!

So,..perhaps coating the 1/4 ark with the same paint could hit the mark?

Yeah, it's the same project. My friend Philip is heading it up but there are some guys on the RPF involved as well. Here is another of my pics:

By the way, Philip designed and built that crate in ONE day.

Hope Rebelscum does'nt mind, but here is a pic of his finished Ark. I think it came out perfect, there was plenty of input over on the rpf towards it's manufacture, but ultimately he saw it through to a completed replica. Enjoy his pics:
