E3 2013 - Info and General Discussion Thread

It's that time again. You know how it goes, except this year we can expect some big announcements regarding next-gen games by Microsoft and Sony, as well as more hardware info. Nintendo won't be holding a traditional press conference this year, but will instead offer a stream for their Nintendo Direct series of E3 announcements. All links to streams and other useful info can be found below. Have fun.

What exactly is E3?

E3 is the world's most prominent trade show for computer and video games and related products.
The show houses opportunity for game developers to show their latest projects, for retailers and distributors
to get together and for the press to get the biggest scoops.

The most exciting by far at E3 are the respective press conferences of the industry's top tier companies.
Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony and Ubisoft each year host large briefings where they show new games and hardware.
It's here where new hardware, such as Wii U, is announced.

Mark your calendars for 12:30 p.m. EST/9:30 a.m. PST/ 16:30 GMT on Monday, June 10. You’ll be able to watch the “Xbox: A New Generation of Games Revealed” event, live around the world, via the livestream on Xbox Live and at Xbox.com. If you are located in the US or Canada, you can also watch the broadcast on Spike TV. Set aside 90 minutes for the full show, which will be presented without commercial interruption.

The next generation of games from Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) will finally be revealed on Monday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. PT (4:00 p.m. ET) exclusively on Spike TV and streaming on www.ea.com/e3. “The Download: EA 2013 Preview” will feature the a first look at EA SPORTS™ UFC, FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, NBA LIVE, the latest from Need for Speed™ Rivals and the live world premiere of Battlefield 4™ all-out multiplayer warfare – and other surprises.

Ubisoft

At 3 p.m. PDT on June 10, Ubisoft leads off with an invitation-only media briefing at the Los Angeles Theatre that will feature first looks at Ubisoft’s upcoming lineup, including exclusive next-generation games, innovative editions of popular franchises and new brands and titles.
Ubisoft’s media briefing will also be available to watch live or on demand on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29uRvifupqQ) and press partners are welcome to embed the YouTube live video feed on their site using the embed link. The live E3 broadcast (available in nine languages!) begins this Monday, June 10th at 5:30pm Pacific/8:30pm Eastern with the PlayStation E3 2013 Press Conference, the most exciting (and most Tweeted-about) event on the PlayStation calendar.

You’ll find the livestream on PlayStation.Blog, PlayStation.com, Ustream, a full-fledged virtual E3 booth complete with livestream in PlayStation Home, Facebook, and Google Plus. You’ll be able to watch E3 live directly on your PS3, too — look for the icon under your XMB’s What’s New section. PS Vita’s Nico Nico video app is in on the action too, supporting a feed of our E3 livestream. And if you’ can’t make the livestream, fret not: We’ll be heaping the live segments into PlayStation’s YouTube page as quickly as possible for later viewing.
