Are they making new bookends for the gift set or just including the existing ones?

Another "super-dee-duper" extended edition milking the cash cow version to contemplate getting... Geez, everyone is jumping on the Lucas bandwagon now...

*Cough* or Jackson, wow oh wow.

saw that coming... anyway if you can wait, i bet there will be an ultimate box set with all extended editions of every narnia movie when eventually all parts of the book are released in film.

or it could just be an extra slip case to keep them all. :monkey1

Any more info on the bookends with the gift set? I sure don't hope they're the same ones as Weta already released....

I don't see the need really to have an extended version of Narnia. It wasn't that long and it all could have been included at once, or left out for the future too. That being said, I'll probably get these, much because of the documentaries and that I'm a Weta-fanboy...

:D

I kinda doubt it's the same bookends. Those are pretty big and if you look at the LotR Gift sets, they all were meant to be bookends as well, and they were all smaller then the 'No Admittance' bookends.

I don't have Narnia on dvd yet, so I will wait for this. As with Kong, I have all the statues except for the maquettes, so, these will go nicely with the collection.

i think that's the norm now. it's their marketing stragedy... releasing movies with some scenes cut/deleted and then releasing the dvd edition with those scenes back in. i just have to walk into a dvd store and just randomly pick those dvd sets and most often than not, the 'special', 'extended' etc editions come with the 'cut' scenes. :monkey4

I love these extended gift sets and the LOTR trilogy was the best ever imo.

I will buy this also in december. Just one question, is there any chance that this would ran out? shall I put the order now, how are you doing ordering?

I wouldn't be too afraid on missing out on these - just look at what's happening with the prices for Narnia statues at the moment:
You can get a Minoboar or Satyr for $25 now (retail: $ 150) :google

So I'd say when the release date comes, just grab it in any store for $50 or less. I don't think there's need to preorder this.

For example, the "Limited Edition" "Worldwide Exclusive" Narnia Gift Set on amazon UK never sold out and is still available, with 30% discount now:

You can still get it here.

Im putting this on my christmas list. Whats the release date for it. i know I got the three LOTR extended edition box sets the first week for like $40 -$50 i think.

Producer Mark Johnson previewed some clips from this DVD set at SDCC, and it looks good. They have amped up the final battle with more fighting, particularly with eagles fighting other flying creatures in the sky over the battlefield, and I seem to remember more wolf action. We also saw a bit of the documentary about C.S. Lewis, put in for the sake of the fans of the books/author and not just the movie. It all seems very much inspired by the approach that the extended LOTR DVDs used (with great success).

first impression this just looks like the no admitance lotr bookend and book set/lotr extended giftset in terms of design to me.
