Default The Sopranos cast is just as greedy in real life...

Well, July 6th is the date for the first reading of the final eight episodes and filming is to start very soon...

Over the weekend HBO signed Meadow and AJ Soprano to new deals of $110 thousand per episode. Dr. Melfi will be getting $220,000, and Janice Soprano will be getting $130,000.

Sil and Pauly, Tony's wise guy right hand men, are both prepared to leave the show if their salaries are not raised from $85,000 to $200,000 per episode. HBO has made them several offers but the price tag war is getting quite heated.

You can read about the latest development here http://www.tv.com/tracking/viewer.ht...pdates;title;1

With the "Friends" cast each getting over a million an episode (and that was several years ago), it sounds like they are being very reasonable.

Alot of these people wont do much after Sopranos besides maybe the Sopranos movie, this money has to last them a while. Type casting is a real pain in the *** sometimes.

I agree. Especially Sill and Pauly. I should think they are more important than annoying Janice..Kick her out and spread her salary amongst those two. There, problem solved. I take just a 10.000 dollars.. ain't I cheap! Where can I send the bill?

I agree completely....I don't know if I'll even continue my subscription after the show has ended.

Jesse

The problem is that HBO does not have the money that other networks have. They run off of the monthly subscription money. NBC, FOX, ABC, ect. have a crap load of money due to advertisement.

I agree that in the "tv" world $200,000 per episode is resonable but it is still an insane amount of money...

I love the Sopranos and want to see an awesome ending but I hate how Actors, Athletes, and Musicians think they are worth so much... I understand that they are the ones that entertain all of us simple folks but it seems if someone has to make a crap load of money it should be the doctors, scientists and farmers... they are the ones keeping us alive!

Okay... I will stop my ranting

While I agree that doctors and such should make the most money, I must admit I'm on the side of entertainers. They only think that they are worth that much because someone was and is willing to pay it. The needing and paying public has created this enormous demand, along with the company capitalization of this demand. Just like everybody else, they want their share of the treasure. If any business does well fiscally, the employees should expect some type of pay advancement. While these amounts are enormous to most, it is all relative to the profession. In the sports and entertainment industry, money amounts aren't seen as ridiculous, but only on the tiers of above, below, or average. If this weren’t the case, nobody would be getting paid these amounts. Monetarily, you are only worth as much as someone is willing to pay you.

While HBO not having advertising dollars, with the Sopranos at least they have made a fortune with merchendising.

Well...HBO caves and the remaining unsigned actors get what they want. The actors that play Sil and Pauly will be getting 1.5 million dollars for the final 8 episodes.

hmm... i've never seen the show(dont laugh at me, i dont have any tv period) , but if they are integral characters i can see if they were demanding a reasonable salary, but nothing crazy.
