Re: Rene Belloq 1/6

LOL Who would ever have thought that kitty litter could be used for such a noble purpose?

Looks great. What mods did you do to the head? He doesn't have those ridiculous red smoochy lips that they all seem to have, so I assume a repaint was done on them, as well as the hair. Did you sand down the jaw, as well?

Re: Rene Belloq 1/6

Hi All

I've had the Belloq figure when I got him with the Gold idol pedestal and finally decided to do something with him. I thought about the jungle scene but other customizers have done that so I thought I would go with him when he is in the Tanis dig site.

RECIPE

1: Rene Belloq - Is from Sideshow Toys, the only things that aren't are the watch, map, goggles and the statue. The watch is from a WW2 Dragon figure, the map has been downloaded of the net and then printed off, the goggles are made from a piece of clear plastic with pieces from the bits box and the statue is from the 3-3/4" indy figures I thought it just looked good Belloq holding it.

2: Base - The base is two pieces of foam core glued together and left to dry overnight, the wall is large foam pieces cut to size and pulled apart to get the decade look and then glued to the base.
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="https://toysplenty.com/wordpressblog/general/mezco-relaunches-family-guy-line/?tracker=4075"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="https://toysplenty.com/wordpressblog/general/mezco-relaunches-family-guy-line/?tracker=4075" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>
Once everything has dried plaster of paris was used to cover the wall and then kitty litter and fine sand was added to the rest of the plaster and the rest of the base was covered. When the plaster dried I used Vallejo paints and pastels to paint and weather the base.

NICE Ron.... LOVE it.... this is my next Belloq project... finally wrapping up jungle Belloq this weekend !!

Appreciate the reply mate thank you and looking forward to seeing your Belloq.

I had the same idea concerning the goggles. I scoured the internet looking for 1/6 ones and then realized they were seemingly clear with no frames. Plastic is the best alternatives. How did you attach the strap?

I actually used some modern day goggle attachments, I just cut and sanded them of teh modern day goggles and glued them inplace.

Thanks for the feedback mate and kitty litter is the best thing to use when doing diorama's I use it alot when doing debri around buildings etc. The head was repainted and the jaw was sanded down a little as per mfishers Belloq.

I scored the Regular verison from Ebay for $44.50 ! I should have it by Saturday!

Bellog has defiantly grown on me! I do want Toht down the road but am going to wait a few months in hopes of scoring a Regular version for a good
price like I did with Belloq.

WOW! That's a great deal, Lordscum! You can't deny it's a nice figure for $44! You should try and seek out the pedestal, too. It really is a great piece.

I might down the road , since I bought the Regular Indy to open so I can keep my Ex MIB. Won't happen right now though. In the last several weeks

I've purchased

EX and Reg Vader
Stormtrooper Commander
Han/Luke ST Disgiuse
Belloq
Regular ROTA Indy
a 2nd Bespin Han
paying for Piett tomorrow

next month

Sandtrooper
Bespin Luke EX
Ben Kenobi Reg
Rebel Fleet Trooper

The Indy, Bespin Han, Bespin Luke , Ben , Reg Vader and Fleet Trooper I already own MIB and got these to open and display.
These I got all below retail from E-bay or friends but still it adds up.
Plus I'm pretty sure from now through December Sideshow will be releasing 1 SW figure per month.

Wow! Great job, chalky! :rock Where did you get the scarf material?

thanks, the scarf material was just a piece of scrap i found lying around the house, i tried a few patterns but this one looked the best but i dont think its very movie accurate. i just preferred this look to the jacket & tie

I like that look a lot more too. I'll have to start modding mine.

Just bought the Exclusive from Sideshow on their Second chance offer. I'm really looking foward to the idol chamber environment. After seeing the figure customized I may have to do some touch ups myself. Unfortunately Belloq will have to take a number and get line, as I have quite the back up going for custom projects.

Just got my exclusive Belloq figure today. I picked up Toht and Belloq exclusives. I was glad to get them after having to cancel them last year. But I am sorry to see the line end. Sideshow Send me a Pirates of the Carribean Cosbaby as a free gift. Pretty cool. Anyway...I am going to need second ones of the Toht and Belloq exclusives to open. I guess now that the line is dead, they'll be available cheap on ebay.

Absolutely stunning work,chalkyYT! Very cool!

Chalky, great work on Belloq! I started modding mine as well. carved out some jawline, made a semiclear version with added neck and shortened the hat by about 1/4 inch on top. Now I am thinking the brim seems too wide, but here he is in process.

Anyone have the hat they wanna part out? Or anyone know somewhere where I could pick it up? Toy-anxiety doesn't seem to have it. Thank fellas.

I know I've just bumped a 3 year old thread, but I'm just getting into Indy figures - thought I'd use as much of the tips that I've read on here to improve the Belloq figure - they worked pretty good - especially the sanding the jaw line...
