Prices
If the demand is there and the price is right, the item tends to sell itself. When you can get it elsewhere for less, it tends to need constant bumping because potential customers aren't being offered a compelling bargain.

Or it could be most people around these parts are cheap. 
Seriously as much as I hate using it ebay can get you at least 20% to 30% more in profits.
