The transfer ban was based not on Neymar's transfer which has been formalised by FIFA.

It was based on some unknown club sending a complaint to FIFA out a rule in the UEFA charter which came in 2009 that you cannot have players below the age of 18 in any of your youth team who lives not in the EU.

This rule was made to stop clubs making 'football slaves'. A phenomenon where children from Africa were 'imported' into countries in the pretext of transfers. Basic deal was to stop human trafficking.

Barca refuses to stop international recruitment in La Masia under any circumstance. Its funny because talent from all over the world queue to join there and every year hardly 2 or 3 non EU children pass the trials as La Masia regulations is 50% Catalan, 40% Spanish 8% rest of EU and remaining is the rest of the world

Its pathetic that FIFA chooses to penalise the very model of self sufficient team building that it tries to promote as the world of transfers turn even more murkier.

The Supporters unfurling their stubborn defiance to not stop the policy of La Masia by unfurling this message 'LA MASIA WILL NOT BE TOUCHED' before the home match against Real Betis

What's your thoughts on Barcas season? 2/3 of the season they at the top and now their dissapointingly (to Barcas standards) in third place.

Thanks for filling me in on the details.

So FIFA make the rules and then penalises a team for abiding by them....messed up doesn't begin to describe it adequately.

It was expected. The club was already reeling due to the effects of bad management and factionalism in the board. Starting from the loss of Guardiola due to differences with the board as well as adept administrative personell who understand the game too (Soriano and Bergstain) with how Abidal's issue was handled. The fact that after last season all they focused on was to bring Neymar whose transfer saga too was murky with the execs refusing to divulge the whole costing to the rest. The team needed a defender and a good box to box midfielder. Someone it had in YaYa Toure.
Valdes and Puyol looking too leave too has a lot to do with the board.

Basic deal is the club was rife with administrative guffaws and meaningless transfers. This is basically Guardiola's team without gas. And that's what is showing up. You can't last one whole season with papering over cracks. And now towards the end all the cracks are showing.

Its a terrible season and its not to do with their positions. It has to do with the handling of club affairs and players not playing with their full zeal. Martino has done a commendable job for a coach with no European experience. Its the admin and the players who need change.

The ceremony at Anfield gave me goosebumps! Very emotional.

Martinez gave an outstanding speech. On a day like today, it's wonderful to see football rivalry put aside.

Similar to the Beckham and Rooney strike. This was the last goal of the final. Munir is talented. Double footed and very clever. More like a Frank Lampard like attacking Midfielder who scores than a front striker

FIFA=Crooked and Corrupt?

Looks that way.

It'll be intresting to see just how they penalise teams that break the FFP rules. City and the other big spenders will inevitably get away with it due to a few brown envelopes of cash in the right pockets but some tiny team who commits a minor infringement will probably get fined out of existence.

To be honest I think teams like City & Chelsea have been good for the BPL. If it wasn't for them the league would of been so boring these past few years with Utd winning everything because no one else can financially compete. Basically it would be like the German league with any team looking promising like Dortmund for example, there best players will be bought up by Bayern like what Utd used to do.

I remember growing up watching Utd winning the league by Christmas every season when I was a kid & it sucked

PSG & Monaco have made the French league so much more interesting as well. And PSG have added another exciting team to the CL as will Monaco next season.

I don't see the problem with it at all & I don't support any of these money teams. I actually support a team who don't actually want to spend any money on players if they can help it :lol

To be honest Plantini was only doing this FFP thing because at the the time it was just City & Chelsea who were oil rich but now there two French teams he'll cool right down on it IMO

Chelsea conformed today that there not even being investigated
