Regular monitoring of Craigslist. Regular visiting (short term) of your local IKEA's "AS-IS" area.
 
I was pretty surprised about the silver round legs as well.
I found them marked down to a dollar a package at the Mass store.

so have tombo's officially gone now wonder if warrington has any left over stock? ugh was planning a trip to ikea this weekend before my move into my new flat next weekend. I don't like the glassvik doors, not a fan of the thick rim, i liked the thinner rim tombos had.
 
If you want narrow frames badly enough, get your doors custom made. There's no shortage of places listed online. A few weeks ago I even found the specific hinges and aluminum channel profile used on the Tombo doors, but there are dozens of other options available from dozens of companies around the world.

SV, I'm on my way to Warrington now. I doubt they have any left but if they do I'll let you know.

These have a thicker front than the Tombo, and IMO, would look even better than Tombo on Besta because it would hide more of the cabinet's frame edge, albeit with a more pronounced aluminum look.

If you want Tombo now and/or you think you might want some in the future, stock up on extras. Even though you can make or order suitable doors elsewhere, IKEA will surely have the best pricing on this.

Decided to go make a tour at my local Ikea since they had 15% on all Besta stuff (got 2x units 75 5/8")... and got 6x Tombo for 25$ each (in liquidation instead of 45$ each)! :thud:
Too bad they decided to discontinue those... :(

Woo Hoo! I had to drive 3 hours to get them but I found the Tombo doors at Ikea in Round Rock, Texas. They have 70 of them still in stock. Unfortunately there was no discount as others are reporting. The yellow discontinued tag was on the shelf but they were still $50. I also got the last two sets of the silver round legs. These were also still full price at $10/pr.(when did the price on these double?)

When did Ikea discontinue the double wide units? It seems that everything in my original setup is now discontinued! At least I got what I needed to add to it for now. I guess I'll have to go with something other than Besta if I need anymore cabinets in the future.

I had the same problem, it's frustrating, I think Ikea should put a warning on their site before discontinuing products... especially since people are often slowly expanding their besta/whatever systems (and Ikea actually promotes this)

I see a lot of people complaining to Ikea about this, let's hope they do something about it someday... until then I keep checking the stocks for stuff I might need in the future.
