Yep, I love both of mine but the old version can't be surpassed in terms of design. I'd only buy the new if I already had the old*, which is what I did. 
* - In my case, I picked-up the War Machine MILK version, which I prefer to the regular, but point is, you need this armour!

Matter of taste. I prefer my War Machines in gun metal or grey scale. Patriot IMO is just too garish.
Old version for sure.
Depends if you think it's a plus to have your toys manufactured out of cheap metal rather than cheap plastic.
