question about the events forum

hello mods:

I wanted to share my link of my comic con pics with some friends that are just lurkers but they can't access the 'events' forum because its classified as private. Is there an alternate location I could make a thread on a public forum?

I went to the 'ask sideshow' forum to ask this very question but there was no button to start a thread so im doing it on the 'general forum'

ps the events thread is only viewable on the forum scrolling format but not in the top pop out menu is that because its private or oversight?

It's there under "Board Business"

k, how about the private / public thingy?
