I dont really know. In my experience with model airplanes and weapons, the diecast ones allways had rougher finish than injection in fine detailing. By now, the only metal i have seen that can be close to plastic/resin level of fine detail is machined aluminium, not diecast. I hope hot toys can change my mind.

I can agree that the mk vii is the best armor to date ( mk I 2.0 a very close 2nd) do not sleep on die cast! The wm 2.0 is awesome, the sculpt and engineering of that is miles ahead of any armor made in plastic. Again IMHO. I would buy all of the old armors if they were released in die cast

Not to bash mk 7, but if you think about, we really only got one brand new Iron Man figure (WM/IP) since mk 7. BD mk 7 and Midas are basically the same figure and I don't count PP mk 42 since it's just a slightly articulated statue. So to say that no IM has topped mk 7 is a bit premature.
I think no IM has topped the MkVII because none of the Iron Man armors shown on film after the Avengers featured so many features on the screen. The MKVII was armed to the teeth and had some cool features on the movie. The IP/WM2.0 and MkXLII don't nearly show-off as much in Iron Man 3.
It's worth noting that Hot Toys did some amazing work in designing the articulation for the new armors. I don't care much for die-cast vs plastic, but I do hope any new release would come with the MkVII's neck articulation and IP/WM's arm, body and leg articulation.

Well when it comes to IM I'm sure the die cast are superior, but I'll wait until I have my MK XLII and then I'll compare it to my MK VII
Does anybody knows if "Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Tony Stark Workshop helmet" is the same than mark iv/mark vi?
It says that is mark vii but when i see pics, is different that the one comes with avengers figure.

That is a MKIV/MKVI helmet but has a MKVII ball joint. It will fit on the MKVII neck but doesn't light up. It is 100% compatible with the MKVII(But is the MKIV/VI design with slightly smaller eye holes)
I have been using those helmets to make custom open face lids for the Armour Test Tony head.
It will fit on your MKVII. Just be aware you need specialist tools to get the faceplate off and that it will not light up.

I dont know what want you say with your post (critic or somethink else), i like peoples do nothing, but every time smarter like others. I try to share just my work, because i think looks movie accurate, but not compare with other member works, not with a pro customizer. And the theory with these mods the mark iv, mark vii body propotion will be close to the movie, was not secret. This is why i dont like share my works on forums.
Thanks. The red part at the top of the mask(Inbetween the "gold forks" is a lot wider on the MKVII helmet than the one that comes with the Armour test. It also has slightly thinner eye holes and a better contoured mask in the cheeks and mouth area. In my opinion.
