Detolf or Billy for displays

Hi all,

I recently got some Detolfs for 60% off at ikea, which was a great deal. But the lack of height adjustment has been a pain the arse to get the dioramas in for the DX04 and DX05 (had to clip some clamps on to raise the top shelf so I could fit these in the second shelf).

So then I saw some youtube videos from drakstoys, who has the most AMAZING display cabinets. He uses the Billy bookcase from Ikea too, which also have glass doors, and seem to have better height adjustability.

I saw the Billy at Ikea, but went with the Detolf cos it had better depth, and I thought I would need that to fit everything (plus it was on a big sale). But he seems to fit everything perfectly in the Billy bookcase.

So do many people just use the Detolf, or are more people getting into the Billy bookcases now?

I came across this today on Facebook.

The artist is Jang Jae Jin, a junior friend of Denny Kim (of Iminime).

Limited 20pcs worldwide with signed certificate.
Here is the artist' words (excuse the rough translation)

"A few years ago, I went to Mongol that has suffered from desertification over the entire nation. The words from a animal husbandary who I met accidentally were stuck in my brain after the journey.

He said: 'plants cannot survive when the land is barren and it will cause a serious threat to animals to lose their lives too. It will lead human beings to be unable to make a living eventually.'

At that time, there was a documentary film about the tears of Afria on TV in Korea and I started moving my hands for this work to deliver my message with my best effort to people in my way.

"Save the Earth!"

There is still enormous numbers of lives being dead with the wrong consciousness and an attitude of indifference of societies.

The film wrapped principal photography back in Dec 2011, yet, no plot details have been revealed, other than the fact that it's another sci fi.

Batman 2014 Reboot: Ideas and direction you'd go

Too early to discuss this movie? When I first heard about this film, I was upset. I love Nolan's films and was hoping after he finished these first three, WB would continue the series with a loose continuity similar to the Burton/Schuemacher films and the Bond series. Recasts here and there, design changes here and there, directorial styles varying here and there, etc. I wanted Nolan's films to serve as the introduction to Batman, Alfred, Gordon, Lucius, and Joker and be the "early years." Future films would continue the character's mission with a veteran Batman in his prime, Joker popping up once per trilogy to torment Batman and Gotham, the birth of Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Oracle, and other allies. Eventually we could have had an old man Batman who would eventually give up the mantle ala Batman Beyond or even a Batman Inc plot line. Terry McGinnis or even ____ Grayson could have taken over and had Bruce retire. That could have been the end. Then they could have rebooted. That would have easily been a nine film series, but honestly, why jump to the end so quickly if they would recast every three-five movies? This could have gone on forever. But Nolan's ending it... It didn't take long for me to accept that and actually get excited for the reboot.

What's stopping WB from doing something similar above with a new series? Nothing. And now they can add fantastical elements and other DCU characters without messing with Nolan's established continuity. I am in the camp that believes adding aliens and superpowered beings into his films would make little sense and lessen them. Even if they did it in a fourth installment after he left. This will make us all happy.

Huge rant over. What do you want to see? What do you NOT want to see? Who would you like to see direct? Who would you cast? What characters missing from past incarnations would you want included? Anyone you would leave out altogether? We can talk about this new series as a whole or this specific upcoming film.

The only thing I can think of I absolutely don't want is another movie dedicated to Batman's origin. You could show it during the opening credits or through flashbacks or throw away references here and there. I also am not big on mixing Batman with the DCU at large but doubt they'd keep him separate from everyone else with the success of the Avengers. I don't mind if they do it since I still have Nolan's for my Batman exclusive series.

The only thing I absolutely want is existing villains with established relationships with Batman. Not all of them. Some of them can be new with their origins written into the narrative. But there's no need to reintroduce Batman to Joker. We've seen that story played out twice now. In the '60s Batman series and B:TAS, he just existed and was already known to the city and Batman. Let's do that on film please! The one time we really saw that was Harvey Dent in BF who is the ONE character who needed to be shown transform to make his downfall at all tragic.

Have at it. Let's try to keep comparing Burton's or Schuemacher's or Nolan's films out of here. You can address what you thought worked but rather than stating what didn't work, just tell what you want to see instead.

‘Terminator 3′ actor Nick Stahl reported missing | Movie Talk

Thirty-two-year-old actor Nick Stahl has been reported missing by his wife, the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed with TMZ .

His wife Rose Stahl, who submitted the report, claimed Nick was last seen Wednesday, May 9.

From the TMZ report:

Sources tell TMZ ...it is believed Stahl had been frequenting the Skid Row area of Downtown Los Angeles recently ... and there are concerns he may have gotten himself involved in some bad stuff.

Indeed, Rose Stahl reportedly filed court papers in February describing her worry that Nick may be using drugs . He was also in trouble with the law earlier this year when he allegedly stiffed a cabbie out of his fare.

If it is true that Stahl is entangled in Los Angeles' infamously dangerous and drug-infested Skid Row, it is certainly reminiscent of the late young actor Brad Renfro. In 2005, Renfro admitted to using heroin and methadone after he was arrested on Skid Row by the LAPD as part of an undercover operation (and a picture of his arrest made the cover of the L.A. Times). He later tragically died of a drug overdose in 2008 at the age of 25.

Stahl took over for Edward Furlong as John Connor in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines." (Furlong has battled his own demons with drugs and alcohol, being arrested multiple times -- most recently in 2011 for violating probation -- and has said he was addicted to heroin and cocaine from the age of 22 to 26.)

Stahl has enjoyed critical acclaim with a starring role in the five-time Oscar nominated 2001 indie film "In The Bedroom," also starring Tom Wilkinson, Sissy Spacek and Marisa Tomei. He played the lead in HBO's "Carniv�le" (2003-2005), which was also praised by critics.

�Haunted� L.A. hospital being converted into senior living home

Would you want your grandma living in an abandoned hospital so well known for its creepy atmosphere and alleged hauntings that it has been used in various Hollywood productions by folks like Rob Zombie and the makers of the horror film "Se7en"?

The L.A. Times says the 107-year-old Linda Vista Community Hospital may soon earn a new reputation once a proposed $40 million conversion is complete, transforming the abandoned building into a senior living home.

"People tell me it's the most haunted place in L.A.," said Maurice Ramirez, executive vice president of Amcal Multi-Housing Inc., the affordable housing group heading the hospital's conversion. "Because it's been empty for maybe 25 years or so, it becomes the subject of a little urban folklore about ghosts and things."

The hospital's caretaker Francis Kortekaas says he has experienced a few unusual moments over the years since Linda Vista closed shop in 1991, including when a sink seemed to turn itself on and off in front of his eyes, and when he felt a child's hand reach out for his own, even though he was alone at the time.

"It felt like my daughter's hand," he told the paper.

Kortekaas has made some unusual changes to the site, including adding a fake prison cell, to make it more accommodating to potential filmmakers. Over the years, the property has been used by several entertainment productions, including the musicians Duran Duran, and as a set for the TV shows "True Blood" and "ER."

Kortekaas says filming takes place at the hospital for nearly 130 days a year.

Perhaps most terrifying of all, the hospital has also been home to shooting locations for the critically panned films "Pearl Harbor" and the 2005 Adam Sandler remake of "The Longest Yard."

But that dark legacy will have a shot at redemption once the extensive renovations are complete.

"It's going to look like an upscale hotel," Ramirez said. "People in the neighborhood will really see a transformation."

Its a sad day first Addam sessler leaves know Kevin perrira is leaving attack of the show his last episode will be may 31st but he will stay to help with the e3 coverage. Many people are saying that the show might be going into a different direction thats why perrira is leaving and sessler left over contract. Allison hasslip also left last year. Theres a rumor that Jessica chobot might replace kevin perrira. Sessler and perrira were part of the orginal tech tv group before the ymerged and became g4.
