The Darklord's Reviews & Ramblings

Missives, musing and miscellany from the desk of the Darklord.

  1. Sideshow Collectibles 1/6 Harley Quinn - Review

The second in Sideshow's long awaited entry into DC Comics 1/6 scale figures - the prime henchwoman of crime, the Diva of Decadence, the Queen of Mayhem - the divine Ms. Harley Quinn!

One thing I love, (although your mileage may vary) is that Sideshow can let loose with the designs on these characters. Harley has been interpreted a few ways over her relatively short lifespan at DC and SSC brings their own flourishes ...

  2. GI JOE: Retaliation - Hot Toys MMS 199 - Roadblock 1/6 Review

I didn't grow up playing with the 3 3/4 inch GI Joes, my Joes were a manly 12 inches and didn't have individual code names. I wouldn't know a Beachhead from a Firefly.

So I had little invested in the GI Joe movies aside from them looking like interesting action movies. One of the Hot Toys summer Toy Fair exclusives was one of the many Iron Man suits seen in the final scenes of Iron Man 3. The suit is listed in the Art of Iron Man 3 as a "High Altitude" suit - and appears to be one of about 4 of the Iron Legion that are just repaints of the Mark VII. ...

  4. Sideshow's 1st DC Comics 1/6 action figure - the Clown Prince of Crime - JOKER!

Sideshow Collectibles launches their much anticipated and long awaited line of DC Comics 1/6 figures with The Joker.

DC Comics 12 inch have long been much desired by the 1/6 hobby community and the Batman movie figures from Hot Toys have been some of the most successful 1/6 ever released. A few years ago DC Direct did a line of high end mixed media action figures, but they greatly disappointed collectors ...

  5. Angel Statue

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer maquette line has been pretty successful from an artistic viewpoint if not from a financial one. Since we don't have an announcement of another statue we have to assume that the line is on "hold" or in other words - D E A D.

But they go out on a very strong note with Angel. This seems to be Angel from his own show as he's standing on a gargoyle as he was wont to do on
