Made the same move myself last year. Once you get used to the higher end stuff it's hard to go back to those little 6 inch figures.

well, just look at it this way... when someone comes and looks at your new collection they wont assume that its just some random toys you keep buying.
most of the sideshow stuff look like incredible artwork and design.
Don't thank US, Thank Sideshow.
There is a time in everyone's life where he or she needs to upgrade. And that time is now my friend.

Hey, I've been down this route as well. I made exactly the decision you made, freeing myself of almost all my "action figures." Then, after a couple of weeks, I decided, "With all the cool SS stuff, I guess I don't need Bowen." I freed myself from the tyranny of the mini-busts. Then after a couple of months, "You know, with all the SS preorders coming up, I'm going to run out of space and money for statues" so I dumped all my comic statues. Now it's only Sideshow, which makes the collecting decisions much easier.
Although I just bought my first two Gentle Giant SW mini-busts...I

I made the same decision some time ago as well, I haven't got around to actually selling off my stuff but I will. Sideshow product is unparalleled in quality and style; that made the decision a no-brainer. Plus my wife really digs SS stuff too, she's been bugging me to get rid of all my other action figs.

I sold EVERYTHING else... besides a few swords and GG busts. No other company's product has ever been so accepted by my loved ones or have I enjoyed so much. SSC is all I really collect now, and I do not regret it one bit.
It was a major turning point in the history of my hobbies....

well said!!! im gonna concentrate mainly on the sideshow figures and PF now. the gentle giant statues are pretty nice too, but they lack the detail that i now crave. so i will keep them for as long as possible. i still think the GG international darth maul is the best maul statue yet.... maybe sideshow will read this and try to prove me wrong :D

I sold all my Lord of the Rings figures once I got into the SS/Weta line....and haven't looked back. I had the Neca figures also, but, they too were scrapped.
I only collect LOTR, and the SS/W line is top-notch. I am also looking forward to the P.F. LOTR line, as I love some of the pieces from other lines I have seen, and can't wait for Lurtz.
SS pieces are the best of the best, and I look forward to keeping my LOTR collection going strong with these high end pieces.
I'd also love to get a P.F. Michael Jordan or a P.F. Jack Bauer (24). Those, I would make room for.
Welcome to the forums. :)
