Guardians of the Galaxy movie in development

I've heard rumors of this for a while. What does anyone think about this property as a potential film. I really loved the writing on the most recent comic series. Personally I think if done well this would be better off starting off as a TV series with the possibility of working its way into a feature film, like Star Trek. Half the members of the team have alot of back story that would work better for a TV series. Its just too bad the Silver Surfer and Galactus are tied up with FOX if Marvel Studios has plans to go cosmic. My guess is anything to do with the Negative Zone, i.e. Annihilus and Blastarr atr also tied up there.

If this does get made the team should consist of at least:
Star-Lord
Drax
Groot
Rocket Raccoon
Mantis
and Gamora

Sweet, i was so bummed when this series was cancelled.

I love Cosmic Marvel, i wish they'd do a Nova film or Annihilation 2 parter.

I'm all for seeing them tackle a project like this. If they cast it right and had the right blend of humor and action it could be a lot of fun. The trick will be convincing the average joe to check it out.
