For those who live in So-Cal this expo looks like it might be cool.
Mostly military but some vendors will probably have Sideshow merch.

I'm not really interested in WW2 figures but have you noticed that Dragon seem to favour the 'losers' ?. With the exception of 1 Italian, the remainder of their output is German !!. Did any other nation take part in WW2 ?.
An 'air ace' from 1944, my arse. By then, the Allies practically owned the skies. By Allies, I, mainly, mean Britain and her Empire, US army/navy airforce, Russian and pilots from the occupied nations.

I like Dragon figures but just get a bit fed up with their constant rehash of anything German. If they had a go at a Great War 'Turk' or 'Austro-Hungarian' or , God forbid, an East African Campaign 'German Askari', they would go up in my estimation.

Enjoy the exhibition, here in Europe we don't have such a large scale 'do', like this.

Weekend of Heroes which is sponsored by DiD among others was just here, and now Dragon feels they have to do one all by themselves.

I don't collect WWII or any military at this point, but these are sometimes interesting for the custom contests. Thankfully none of the exclusives interest me either.

It's because the hobby has a lot of support in So Cal, it's where I got into the hobby.

I've for the most part stopped collecting boxed Dragon figures because they're so fixated on WWII Nazis. I think it's great that DID is now out doing Dragon even in that regard and also doing some modern military stuff (although not enough in my opinion). Now it's solely Movie/TV, ancient Military figures, and select Modern Military/police figures for me.

DML's US office is in Los Angeles. It's substantailly cheaper to have a show in Anaheim than travel cross country. Last years show was actually in Atlanta and it was the best 1/6th oriented show I've ever attended. If your interested in modelling in 1/6th, especially vehicles you might want to attend this one. And stop by the www.panzerwerk.com booth and say hi to one of the newer members here. Steve is a great guy. Sadly you won't be able to say hi to me this time. Just couldn't make it this year. But I can guarantee if you do you will see a very proffessional show with a lot of interesting vendors.

Dragon had their 2005 show in Atlanta, which is on the east coast last time I checked! :D

As for all their stuff being German that's a tired old statement that's just not true. Dragon makes lots of Americans, Russians and is getting back into British too. Yeah, most is German but the generic "all they make is German stuff" is just old.

At this year's expo the previewed figures were mostly non-German/Axis. An American Normandy beachmaster, late war Marine with 90mm recoilless rifle, early war Brit, a fantastic looking B-17 machine gunner with fuselage dio piece, Russian with attack dog and yes 3 Germans. That's 5-3 Allies to Axis.

The Germans did dominate the exclusives but I'll tell ya, it's funny to see on some boards that the same people who complain about Dragon making too many germans, and then also complain about the fact that exclusives are even made, then complain that all the exclusives are Germans! :rotfl :chew

Also, maybe if there wasn't a line of people waiting to buy every German figure, tent, and mule basket they had, then Cyber Hobby would get the message and not make so many!
