New to collecting, and I'm thinking about getting some display cases/shelves. Only reason I haven't yet is because I keep spending the money on more Sideshow 1/6!

Loads of cool displays, but I've always wanted a clear display that can be placed on a wall-mounted horizontal shelf so everything is at the same height. Has anyone tried this yet?

I was thinking of something like this...

A shelf deep enough for some good 1/6 poses and an acrylic cover that can be the same size as the shelf, so it looks like a clear box type thing on the wall.

I don't know about these though, i had a look to see about a custom acrylic cover for an est of the shelf i had in mind, but it was ridculously expensive. :(

Had a custom display case maker draw 1 of these up for me for my SSC IM & WM Maquettes and the cost estimate was near $400 each.

I have seen a few in the collections section, all were customs and all were expensive.
