why are artist proof worth so much more?

SS is auctioning off a bunch artist proof on ebay, as far as i can tell some of them are exactly the same as the regular statues. But they are going for 8-12x more than the market price. Why?

I just bought an artist proof of the new HCG Rocky 1/6 statue, limited to just 20, I paid only $100 on ebay, and that's less then the $150 for the regular 500 piece edition, so I guess it just depends on the demand for a particular statue. Rocky doesn't carry a huge interest anymore :monkey2

Just like everything else, supply vs demand.

AP can have an affect ranging from nill to tripling or more the price of something.

why are artist proof worth so much more?
