sticky plastic

Hiya;
I've discovered some of my plastic figures turn out sticky ( like MGS II gashapon) over time.
Why and is tehre a cure for that?

I have experienced this with some video game gashapon characters...specifically tales of the abyss video game ones. I have no idea what the problem is and have tried wiping them down without any success. i would also love to know if there is a way to clean them without ruining them or stripping the color.

That is plastic softeners leaching out. There is no way to stop it. Google "plastic softeners" or "plasticizers".
