This man is a Darth vader makin' god.
I'd love to get one of these things in my hands. I learned a lot from the Sovereign Studios Indiana Jones, I imagine Hurrican'es Vaders show a lot of innovations as well.

I've seen Hurricane's Vaders go up for $300. With all the work he puts into them, I imagine they are well worth it. Someone needs to put Hurricane's Vader next to that custom Anakin that's been flitting about the net.

Hi, heres the latest Vader off the line, not quite finished but i took some pics for the owner, usual stuff, hasbro talky vader torso, with swivel waist, new arms, improved legs, ankle joints.Hasbro retailored body suit, hand made capes (look a bit short need to be left for a while to hang properly) bendy hands/leatherette gaunlets, second set of fixed hands with plug -in cold cathode lit saber (I have sorted these cathode tubes to be both cordless and in body powered, but the owner wanted this one to be mains driven)Light up belt boxes ,chest box etc etc...The owner wanted the 'burnt Anakin' head fitted , so it is on a ball joint.Hand made metal reveal gutts etc. these vaders dwarf the medicom ones, they stand 13.5 inches tall.

Cowboy, the sabers are made with a Cold Cathode light and inserted into the hilts. Go to coolerguys.com and buy some 6-inch tubes. I converted all of my sabers to cathodes and they look EXACTLY like they do in the films. Best custom upgrade I ever made. :lsvader

well, just about done, ESB vader isnt massively different from ROTJ,the only major diference is where the helmet splits,(and some other small details, additional silver switch on chest box, diferent shape rocker switches, sharper edge where mouth screen meets chin area,...) you only see vader unmasked momentarily in ESB and then only from behind, the mask splits above the two side 'rails' instead of between them as in ROTJ,more pics when i have time,.....http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d93/hurricane1002/DSCF0044-1.jpg

Needless to say, Glenn, those two Vaders are absolutely incredible!
But that first one, the Empire looking one, is by far, one of your best ever efforts. That first shot could be a shot of Prowse in the suit, ready for his on-set cue!

Don't have it yet. He's working on the saber now. I declined the electronics and opted instead for a SSC Maul blade in a Vader hilt.
I know, I know...Sacriledge! Blasphemy!
I'd love to have the light up saber and all, but then I'd want all my SSC Jedi's to have matching sabers, and that would just be too costly.
Decided on consistency instead. It will still be exceptional, regardless....

Thanks for the welcome. I've been registered for some time, but never really posted.
Your Vader looks real nice. I'll never understand where you all find these parts. Do you make them yourselves or are their parts out their to kitbash?
Looks nice, though. I'll be sure to keep checking back to see the progress.

nope, i only use original kaiyodo model masks/helmets,or with the ROTS version genuine kotobukiya statue helmets, the dome on this one is the hasbro one, slightly reshaped.

Odd question Hurricane, but this seems the best place to ask as the costumes are VERY simular. Have you ever done a luke skywalker from dark empire, as the character design looks like he raided his father's old wardrobe?....
http://lodestonecatalog.com/lode/catalog/hbrg/hbrg007L.jpg
And If you haven't can I talk to you about a commission?
And if this is the wrong place to ask this, I'm appologising in advance.

Here's the custom Vader I did about 8 years ago. I made a total of 3 of them and they all ended up selling to people in Japan. I remember getting tons of emails from Malaysia and the Philippians from people asking for the figure recipe (which I never revealed....but is now the common Kaiyodo/Electronic Hasbro conversion). Forgive me for the crappy photos I took back then with a crappy dig. camera. Just thought it might be interesting for people to see an 'old' custom Vader. He stood around 14 inches tall.

'parts bin Vader' cough cough, consists of san older body i built, hybrid hasbro standard bod/talky vader body/dragon/marmit.Hand sewn body suit, multiple hands fitting the sideshow pegs, including pointy finger, clenched fists, force push etc etc, will get a cathode saber when ive time to go with SSc OT Ben,
Tried to replicate the props with this down to the chips and uneveness of the upper armor, which in ANH was brush painted...chest box is a cast of the kaiyodo one, totally reworked to match ANH, belt boxes are genuine kaiyodo and have the correct red washers on the six buttons, belts leatherette.Helmets a casted kit one of mine,no reveal ,no removable dome,be no point as in ANH the prop wasnt too pretty under the dome. Some quirks on the ANH version are the fact that the two tone paint differs from ESB and ROTJ with the left hand cheek rail being gunmetal instead of black ,also smaller chin vent, and one tusk is black.Dome is hasbro shortened in the back and the widows peak added, the ANH should have a slimmer central ridge but i havent got that far yet.Cape is hand made and lined, needs to settle to loose its bulkyness, and i may water treat it.I recently received a gift of a .45 scale ANH hilt, im gonna use this, as its easier than my full size one ,to take measurements from and machne a master for casting from. All finishes are dusted(??) or semi gloss .

Bwaynes ESB vader, full spec 'cept speach, this one took along time as it was built during alot of transistions in how i made them, use of the sideshow body crossed with the hasbro talky vader body, new sharper brow detailing, fully revised internal detailing, new saber hand which detachs allowing the use of other preposed hands.http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d93/hurricane1002/DSCF0851.jpg
