2k is a lot of cheese, this thing has to be better than the Supes they put out, or else I won't even ponder getting this. Their human characters just haven't been good at all imo, but if they can't get this right, it will just be :slap

That's what I'm afraid of, but in all honestly, I hope they do cause I don't want to ever spend 2k on a collectible ever again :rolleyes2. I would be satisfied with the HT Bats :peace

Here's my question. HOW LONG do we usually have before the release of detailed photos -vs- when they go onsale?

Because if I have a few months, then I MIGHT be able to afford this. But if we don't have a few months - I probably can't save up this much cash.

What is the usual with Cinemaquette? How long do they usually wait before they have released photos before they go on sale?

yeah they should fo gone with the 1989 version.

what ever, l don't really care for cinemaquette stuff. don't care for silicone figures or silicone ****.

l just don't like silicone.

I prefer the original Batman over Batman Returns.

And yeah, this probably won't ship till next summer. Darth Vader which was announced at last years Comic Con, is just going to be shipping in a month or later (depending on when you pre-order). You have plenty of time.

I've been hoping they do a batman. But really? Why this suit? Can't really say until I see it in person. Hopefully we'll see a reveal at Comic Con.

I think CMQ haters should stay out of the thread.

As for the outfit - yes, Batman is a better film than Batman Returns, but the suit in the first movie is bulkier and makes less sense. The Returns suit and sleek and more modern. IMHO, a VAST improvement over the first suit.

I don't think it's bad, and I don't think others do, but the fact is that it could've been much better. I think that when the HT is literally 1/10th of the price and it looks 10 x better, people tend to be more attracted to that. As for them being totally different, I think that if someone's willing to shell out 2k for a subpar Superman, they're probably willing to shell out a little more to someone like BobbyC who could make something that blows the CM out of the water.

Well the thing is, rich ppl usually buy these, and they are not as picky as doll collectors, so regardless if this is better than the HT version or not, it will sell, just not to the non rich ppl. They are gonna have to try hard to F this up cause they don't need to get a full face, accurate sculpt on this.

Glad it's the Returns suit. That way I won't feel so bad when I can't afford it. The 89 suit, if done right, would've be hard to resist.

Remy
06-01-2011, 11:38 AM
Next to Batman Begins, Batman Returns is my 2nd favorite Batman outfit. The improvement over 89 is just night and day. When you watch the films back to back, you can see that 89 is rough looking and the Returns is the refined version of it. Glad they're going with this suit. I doubt I can afford it. I hope I can save enough money when this thing comes out.

Roc74

I wonder if the suit will just be sculpted plastic or will it be a rubber body suit

DiFabio

I like the Returns suit, but I have to admit these Cinemaquette's are just too expensive to me. I can afford them for the most part, but there would be some serious buyers remorse I think. I can't justify $2,000.

The Toynami Batmobile and Batwing are the same way. They look fantastic but I just can't see myself buying them and not thinking, "man, I regret this, I could have spent/saved $2,000 on something more important".

I'll be a cheap ____ and stick with Hot Toys. It'd be nice to get a Returns Batman from them after '89 but I won't push my luck. I am looking forward to pics of this though, I wonder what pose he'll be in.

Personally, I'd love to see something similar to this,

Yeah - pretty much agree with all of that. I think they are way overpriced, clearly catered to rich fans for the most part of which there are plenty, who would happily part with that kind of cash without worrying too much about it.

That is THE pose for a Returns Batman. Stiff neck FTW :rotfl

I would really love to see a CM Keaton Batman. However, all this talk is just based on a comment on FB. I will only believe it when I see some pics from SDCC this year. I believe the next release will be previewed at the Con.

That said, really hope CM does Batman. That would be the most anticipated release for me.

I think it's pretty safe that the information is accurate. In fact I have the money set aside already. George isn't really cagey about what's coming next. We've pretty much known this since last SDCC.

Im not trying to start anything, but you should say that about practically every thread here.

Haters are going to hate, unfortunately.

I have to put up with Sucker Punch haters in the Sucker Punch thread. I have to put up with Hot Toys haters in the Indiana Jones/POTC/DX Jack threads. I have to put up with Johnny Depp haters in the Sweeney Todd/Johnny Depp threads...see where Im going... :)

But I totally agree with you. If people dont like something they dont need to come in and crap all over it.

As for cinemaguettes, Id love to get them, but like some have said, Ill stick with HT releases. I just cant justify $2000 a pop for these beautiful babies...:peace
