Hi everyone, I wanted to say that I am in no way affiliated with Master Replicas. I just got this post card in the mail with this offer and thought I would pass it along to all of you.
Just go to the MR website at: www.masterreplicas.com or call 1-866-491-7891 and enter in promotional code LD4-1455 at checkout.
This will get you 65% off of Sting along with free shipping! This offer is only good through October 31....Fly you fools!

I assume this is only good for Sting and not any other merchandise? I wish it was for anything on the website, I'd grab a couple lightsabers and a Stormtrooper blaster.

I HIGHLY recommend this deal. I bought one (for $65, darnit), and I love it. It really does look like steel; and when people see it light up they have a movement. At that price all of the kids should get one of these this Christmas.

THAT'S A FANTASTIC IDEA!!!
I might see if me and a few other people can chip in and get one for my little friend Caleb. thanks for that idea Naugladur! :)

I've seen it at a local shop and while I could understand the "toy" like aspect (light's sound, polycarbonite...) bothering some....but this is a very well made high quality "toy" and blows away any other "toy" Sting out on the market.
Unless you have real orcs in your neighborhood, this will be just fine. Otherwise get UC's sting and run like hell...
Those on the fence should read some reviews.

So how does this work?
You give out all your cc info and then you fill out the code, hoping for the best?
Or is there a 'confrm this order' screen after that?
I'd hate to order it only to find out that the discount will not be applied to orders from Europe and that I'm stuck for the full price...
DarkShadowCollectibles
10-11-2004, 03:52 AM
I noticed that too Lasher.
I was curious if there was another page or you enter the code and pray.
JSAuctionService
10-11-2004, 04:00 AM
There's a confirm screen after entering your card info.
The Promotional Code box is on the same page as the
one where you enter your CC info, at the bottom of
the page. I didn't have any problems at all.

Ya know I hate to bust bubbles and I am happy that you all got a great deal on these. As I would have loved to offer it to my customers. But as a retailer with them, we paid $89 a piece for this item. Over 400.00 for a carton. Then they capped us for 6 months to sell it for no less than $119.00. Then they turn around and started chopping down the price and held the ropes as tight as they could on us retailers. Not that I want to compete with MR. But I HATE not being able to provide good deals to my customers. And above all taking a HUGE loss on this item. I found it real hard to charge my customers 119.00 for plastic! Steel something else but PLASTIC it was hard to move that item. We sold what we had pretty much gave them away and we are glad to be done with the Sting FX major money loser for retailers! If you check out MR's site you will see they hardly moved them as well. I know they have upset a great deal of people. Rebelscum.com has really gotten angry about the sale of their items!
DarkShadowCollectibles
10-11-2004, 10:29 AM
I agree with Shannon.
This is a big blow to retailers.
I will just have to hang on to mine till these sell out and hope they move.
All I have to say is thanks MR for the great buy and for sticking it to the retailers.

Adam, Shannon,
Looks like the manufacturer is under cutting their retailers.
This looks like the computer business to me now.
Sorry Guys. I wish all Manufacturers were like Sideshow.
They treat their retailers well. Speaking for myself.

GilGalad HK,
Just curious if you know why you originally received this offer. Was it a random promotion or something specific you can pin point it to?
While I understand the retailors being annoyed about this deal, I would hope they refrain from contacting Master Replicas until after it ships. :(

I just got my ship notice as well. $39 shipped to canada.
Never planned on buying this thing, I don't think I would ever pay more than $50 total - item just never really interested me, seemed toy-ish. But hell I'll buy anything for 40 bucks. :rollin

Winged Shadow, they are not UC...for the price of $39.00 and free shipping yeah it is a better deal. I am not sure if any of you have seen them. I had one board member here email me directly about it and quality. I just stated for the price yeah buy. But if you have a Sting (UC) already then no they are not worth it.
Winged Shadows
10-11-2004, 06:57 PM
Yeah Shannon...i've seen the UC sting.. it's pretty cool (even more so with scabbard).
And the $39 wouldn't apply in my case anyway..since i'm overseas it be closer to $90.
Hope those of you who've wanted one bag yourself a good deal.

I just got my MR Sting!!!:yay Wow, free overnight FedEx shipping!! Looks pretty cool, I was surprised that it actually felt quite heavy, not like a toy at all. However, I'm pissed cause I didn't know I had to buy some special kind of batteries separately!:bang >: I wanted to try it as soon as I got it and post some pics but now I'll have to wait until I can get out to someplace that sells them. So a notice to all you who have ordered it, make sure you have 2 “123” 3 volt lithium batteries so the thing will actually work.:\
Edited to add that at least this kind of battery is not that expensive. A pack of 2 is $11.99 at Target. Whew, I thought it was like the $30-50 camera ones, cause the instructions said to get them at a camera store, lol.

Regarding dealers and MR. I thought you could only presell at 5% off. I know a site selling the MR .45 Sith sabers at just under $30. I thought $33.25 was as low as you could go. :dunno

10-12-2004, 11:22 AM
Well it has gotten to the point to where people have said to hell with the rules I think! ;) But yes they are not suppose to do that.
I have another distributor that I get MR merchandise with I can buy one at a time which is GREAT. I am not stuck with a whole carton of dead merchandise! That I end up taking a loss on. And sell for what I want and not be MR's puppet. I hate sounding bitter but they stuck it to me pretty bad. I have lost a lot of money on their merchandise.

Got mine today. Bought the $15 batteries for it, and it is neat,
but it makes me want one that is actually steel.
I'll be getting a small plaque for mounting antlers on the wall
as a replacement display to mount it to the wall. It will look
more regal that way if I pick a nice one. The plastic stand
really sucks.
It is worth $40, but if I'da paid $100 or more, I'd feel hosed.

Well, were able to figure out the mix up. FedEx delivered to a "Michael's" store a couple of miles from me. The store has the same number as my house. So with that, and my first name being "Michael", I guess I can see how they could of delivered to wrong place.
Anyways, did get it. It is a cool sword. Worth the $40, but don't think worth tooo much more than that (I did go out and buy the batteries to for $13).

Got mine too. $39 shipped to CANADA and no customs fees of any kind. It is definitely worth this price to me but I would never pay more than $50 for it. It would look a lot more realistic if the edges of the blade wasn't clear plastic, but I can't complain much for the price. It is pretty damn cool lit up :elf

Got mine today also, pretty dam cool. But I agree MR should of never of charged more than $50 for it (like Sideshow should of never charged more than $75 for HD). It does make you want the metal version alot!
