All I can think of with that quote is the YouTube videos of Transformers cllips redone that were all over the place last summer, one had Optimus Prime fighting with this dialogue over it, funny ^^^^ :rotfl.

Great job Josh!
You know? I sadly looked at that head when I finished it and said those EXACT words. :lol
I even have Ezekiel 25:17 memorized. :D
Just got done putting the head into a mold. Thankfully, with the Joker project leftovers, I have enough parts to make 3 full customs. So I should be able to afford bills this month, not to mention the payment on the Joker shirts and a few refunds to friends.
I will put up a sale thread when they are done, just so they can be mailed out immediately and not be another one that people have to wait for. :rock
Oh, and Sean!! Your Myers is weathered, on the body, has a knife and just needs to have gloss put on his eyes... He will be in your hands SOON!

Awesome, can't wait to photograph him :rock, and can't wait to see all the detail in person. Les' photos showed even more detailing on the hands that you'd done, it's insane, but a perfect worn, beaten, Myers hand look. Weird how even his hands have sort of a signature look to them, wasn't a fan of how they got all like toxic looking over the sequels. Ya they'd been beaten a lot, but the look they gave him just didn't quite reflect that, looks more like he'd been exposed to radiation or something :lol

I just put skin tones on EVERY single head that is on my shelf tonight, 35 heads total! I also am close to completion (sans masks) EVERY last Roy and Jason figure that I have yet to do. LOTS of stuff is coming guys, I'm driving hard to get more production with less time. You deserve it, every one of you.
And on top of that, tonight I watched press clips for my Government class and wrote a short essay for Literature! :google

Tonight was my "Casting night"! I just chilled and listened to music, mixing resin and casting heads.
I cast 6 Jokers, 7 Roys, 6 H1 Myers, 4 Jules, 2 Rorschach, 1 Goon and one test cast of my Ghostface. :google
I WILL have assembled figures of all Roys, ALL Jasons, and possibly more before the end of the weekend.
I'll also be selling 3 full figures of Jules, already painted and done.. and one seperate painted head this weekend for sure to raise more money for casting materials and bills here at home. They will not be something people have to wait for. When they buy it, I will buy 3 bodies and within a week the buyers will have the figures. First DA FAST TRACK figure of all time. :D

Hell yeah dude, not holding back at all! And BIG huge thanks to Sovereign Studios for offering his assistance on the Jason masks. Shawn is making a better mold of the mask for me, which will make my figures crank out at a much faster pace.
So once I get that back, figures will be shipping out to people! I am aiming at all my horror figs to have shipped out before Halloween. Also hoping to have the Jokers done by then, but a man can dream... :lol

That's basically my night. Except for heads, I'm casting *a* head. And instead of music, I'm listening to McCain speak at the RNC (hey, I gotta at least hear the guy out).
This is the first time I've ever cast anything and I can't wait to see how it turns out. The only downside is that I pissed off the wife because I seriously underestimated the stinkiness of resin. :sick

Well, I hope you know I don't expect but I certainly do appreciate very much you going the extra mile. I'm sure as always with these custom pieces, the first glimpse will be like never seeing a picture of it before it's so much more vivid and detailed in person. I can only personally vouch for you and Les as you're the only custom artists whose work I've seen in person, but there is quality and care that rarely translates through the lens and I enjoy the challenge of trying to take photos that say "yes, it is this amazing in person", so that folks that haven't seen your stuff first hand can build the proper expectation. I still remember the "wow"s that went through my head when I saw the paint job you did on Marc's ghost Anakin, first custom painted head I'd ever seen in person, and it was amazing and fun to observe all the little nuances and subtleties that I had no idea were there going by the photos I'd seen.
Glad I get to add your Michael into my growing Myers figure collection :rock

Not a problem bro.. he has the first coat and will be doing the detail work this week. In fact I will be doing that will all of those heads that I did the initial skin work to last week. I just have to find an off day...
I've been having to do a lot of writing for school this week so far and it is looking to be a writing heavy week throughout. But I will work that stuff in there somehow. Guarantee that. :rock

Thanks guys... I just finished the last two...
My literature class has me writing an essay for each class, bi weekly. This week I had one that was on "The Horse Dealers Daughter" and another on "The Story of an Hour". The first was harder than the second, as I had already read that shortie during my Humanities class last semester.
Also, I had an essay for Living in the Environment that was detailing the building of a eco-friendly facility and details of what we used and why. It was a group project, but the essays were alone. That was last night. This weekend I have another one I have to do on Polar Bears, and this one will need heavy reference. :google
The other essay I had was on the US Constitution and was tough... I also had a test in that class this week too... with 3 essay questions and a separate essay that had to be turned in before the test..
I also have to work on a few speeches for another class before the month is out.... :banghead
No rest for the weary. :lol
Last night I got 4 hours of sleep, I'm just looking forward to a few more tonight. Tomorrow after class I have a bunch of stuff to ship, but after that... I am coming to work on paint and get my mind off of it all.

It's tough, but hang in there. It will pay off in the long run.
Otherwise you could find yourself in five years with a shovel instead of a paint brush, and instead of working around unpainted Hicks heads, you'll be working around meth-head hicks.

Sorry I didn't speak up last night, I got home at almost midnight, had to watch the Sox try to win in the 14th inning :banghead, but to my delight when I got home there was a box waiting for me. Cracked that sucker open and as always, the "wow" factor kicked in. I'm blown away, especially by the weathering on the jumpsuit, it's insane, and one of the first things I did was look at him from a profile, and yup, the back of the jumpsuit has that exact fold we talked about, I really think Saturday toys had to have modeled this suit for Michael Myers with all the matching details, or maybe it's just ^^^^ luck that their suit has them, either way. Your paint work on the mask and hands is insane, the detailing and weathering, so much subtlty, can't look at it without knowing and seeing the time and care put into it. The eyes work out great, from some angles they remind me of H2 when you see his eyes in the mask just after Laurie shoots him, and there's this subtle look of torment in them from some angles, and others it's pure rage. Of all my figures this is the least new looking of any of them, dude looks like he's been around the block and the small detail work on the heels that you and I talked about, very realistic looking, as someone who frequently does that to his own pants, I can say the ripping and dirtying is very realistic. You did a great job on this, and of course, the knife rocks too. I love how you got just the blood to be glossy and wet looking.
Everyone waiting on a Myers from Josh, bear with him, however long it takes, your patience will most definitely be rewarded. Michael Myers may be a simple design at his core, but the detail work that the average Halloween viewer could take for granted is poured into this figure and makes all the difference in how cool or ordinary this figure would look. Josh and I have spoken on several occassions about all the little factors that go into Michael and he know his ^^^^ and he's putting that knowledge into making these figures look their best, but quality like that won't happen quickly, and for your figure's sake you're not going to want him to force getting the detailing done, let it flow from him and you'll be glad you gave him his time on them.

I'm so glad I was able to get in on this run of Michaels. It's unbelievable that such an iconic character like Michael Myers has been shown so little attention in 1/6 form over the years, but he's now finally been done justice. I can't wait for him to come to my little town.

I think the sequels are somewhat responsible for that. I'm not too familiar with the fandom, but it seems like Freddy and Jason's sequels were more enjoyed, until the last couple, so there was more support. Most Halloween fans stand behind 1 and 2 and then the support fades a lot from 3 (shouldn't even count since it's not Michael and it's his series now) on through 8 and of course now Rob's take, which got NECA's attention, so did Carpenter's for that matter, but outside of NECA there's hardly anything put into Halloween. Hell I'd love a Halloween dio as part of Sideshow horror dio line but probably won't happen.

yeah , Halloweens sequels don't have as much punch as Freddys and Jasons but I still enjoyed them really. But then again I loved indy 4 and no one else seemed too .. :lol
I like sideshow so much for many reasons but one of them is sometimes they don't seem bothered if something doesn't sell out. No... what I mean is , it isn't there number 1 priority.
There number 1 main concern is to produce a fantastic peice.
Thats why I'm surprised there have been no Myers dios. Horror seemed to put sideshow on the map in the first place.
Either way this Myers is fantastic and the photos looks awesome Shaun.

Good find on that ghost face image, really shows where the key emobossing points lie with the eyes and how shadows really only show in certain points which defines the overall look.
If only McFarlane's figure had done the mask right, I might have forgiven the other flaws as the mask is my favorite part, but now we have Josh to give us redemption and deliver Ghost Face as it should be, and having Michael finally, it'd be great to have my own little icons of horror collection of figures from him. Start a lynch mob if you like, but I've never seen any Friday the 13th films and probably would want a DA Jason if I did, maybe I'll try to get my hands on some to watch this Halloween.
Josh, you and I see eye to eye on Halloween so I'll look for your judgement on F13, which films are must see in that series?

Yeah, the Friday films are Classics... Really amazing films. At least the first 5. 6 was awesome too, but starting to get cheesy. 7 and 8 were laughable, but at least 7 had the most amazing makeup for Jason. JGTH is a piece of steaming dog crap. HORRIBLE movie. So is Jason X.
But the first movies rock, especially for Slasher fans. Everyone should own that Crystal Lake to Manhattan Box set. :rock

Awesome! Dont forget to pick up Psycho, the original!!!!
Highly underrated by most fans of modern horror. A lot of people forget that Norman Bates paved the way for a whole new sub genre of horror. The "horror-of-personality" film was born with Psycho, before every thing was monsters and outer space invaders. The psychotic "every man" was born with this movie. He inspired some of todays highly regarded horror icons, like Leatherface and Hannibal. Norman Bates, having been inspired by a real killer Ed Gein, changed the landscape of horror for years to come.
Anyway, what Psycho 1st.

Evil Dead part one is good, but Raimi really develops his style in the second one and it shows. Army of Darkness is good fun too, cult classic.. but the second is my favorite. Nothing beats the bits where he is alone and slipping into madness. :lol

Trust me guys, when you get your Michael's, you'll understand why Josh takes the time he does to make them, and you'll be glad you let him have it. The man even weathered the underside of the boots, he left no small detail out. He doesn't just weather these things, he takes a practical approach. The jumpsuit is baggy, so he painted and roughted up the backs of the legs where the boot heels would occassionaly drag them against the ground, the shoes are totally dirtied like he's been walking around dirt and mud and messy houses, the works, the hands look very worn and roughed up. I'll snap some pictures to show this off best I can later, but really, you'll be amazed by the thought and craftsmanship behind all the little nuances that Josh puts into the figure.

Honestly, it's been a progression. The opportunity of shooting Les' Joker has opened up new ideas and methods for me. Getting the shots of his figure with the fire glow on the Joker got my gears going as to, what would it look like if I did other colors or whatever on other figures. Then it's your figure inspiring me, but also your style that is influencing me. As that picture I posted awhile back shows, I've got no shortage of Myers in my collection, and I've shot the other before, but with them I just try to shoot like the films, but because of how you create this figure and give it a darkness that is your signature on the piece, I'm inspired to shoot it to capture that quality in the figure. Your Myers figure is what Rob Zombie's Myers should have beenl; take Carpenter's concept for Michael as a character, The Shape, but then present him in a more terrifying manner. Your figure does that, he's still abstract, and really there is no emotion present in the face, but showcase it just right and this evil comes out of it.

And Sean, I appreciate that man.. I really do. My version of Myers is certainly put through the DA filter, and I wish that the Zombie version would have been closer to that style. Thanks guys! It was a quick thing to do, the head took a bit of time sculpting. Started out as Tom Cruise.. :lol
The character's name is Nergal (named after the Babylonian God of Pestilence). It's part of a series of figures I am doing, based on a story I am writing. The figure is still in work, needs a bit more polish... But it will come. Just put him on my shelf for now while I get more commission stuff done. :rock

Josh, did you just paint the horns on the forehead or did you remove them form somewhere and attach them, they look so real :google
Not sure where you're going with this character, but I look at it and I see him wielding a badass looking sword for some reason.

Thanks guys! It was a quick thing to do, the head took a bit of time sculpting. Started out as Tom Cruise.. :lol
The character's name is Negal (named after the Babylonian God of Pestilence). It's part of a series of figures I am doing, based on a story I am writing. The figure is still in work, needs a bit more polish... But it will come. Just put him on my shelf for now while I get more commission stuff done. :rock

Thank you all sooooo much!! Nergal was born of a conversation I had with Les, we were discussing my art style and what we both agreed my strength was. He started describing the very things I often imagine or sketch but never really focused on with my figures. After hanging up, I started brainstorming and came up with a few basic characters and designs that I prefer.
Nergal was the first to pop in my head, taking aspects of Nosferatu...demons, tattoos, with a touch of non human aristocratic flair....
And Sean, the entire face, mouth horns... everything was sculpted with Magic sculpt. The horns were just carefully painted to give them a realistic look. Your words pay me the greatest compliment, because I wanted them to look as real as possible. :rock
I'm very proud of him, but will have to keep working on him to get him as good as I want him to be. And there will be more... much more. After I complete my commissions and get done with the stack of repaints...
I intend on pulling out entirely from the majority of my repaint work and focus on full figures. I know I have said that before, but this time it's looking pretty concrete. I've gotten myself into a hole by not turning down work, and I've started to lose track of customers and their PM's. It's not fair to my customers for me to be so far behind and for communications to suffer. So, my repainting days are pretty numbered.
I'll still do the occasional work for my long term customers and close friends, but nowhere near as often as I do now.
I will however focus on my full figures and original works, allowing me to do more stuff like Negal and push my art forward. At least now, this site has plenty of up and coming artists to take my place. :duff

Amazing work Josh!
While the horns and teeth are both amazingly real looking I love the hands on him. They are very unique. You are a customizing genious!:duff

Thanks man! I love the hands. I used Phantom hands from Sideshow and sculpted the nails on them. I really wanted him to have some gnarly claws, since that is their primary attacking weapon.
like Sean, I initially thought of a sword... but decided against it because soo many of my other customs have had swords.. and I didn't want it to be something I always did. :lol

It is good to diversify. Now Freddy won't be the only guy with freaky claws.:lol
Again amazing work!
