That is just an incredable deal. I don't know how Shannon does it!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 30% off deal good for anyone (boardmember or not)? I went to their website yesterday and saw that 001 code there. It's an awesome deal anyway. I still need a Legolas, but have been procrastinating. I can now pick up a Lego and Sting for about $154 + shipping. That's insane! I'm on it!

Saurons I

And another thing: I also saw that the UC Sting comes with a FREE scabbard also. How do these people make a profit? I love them!

LewisD

Quick Q to anyone:

Do the Legolas Knives w/scabbards mount onto the display as shown in the above picture, or is it like Sting, where the scabbard won't work well with the display?

mksucum
10-11-2004, 03:45 PM
does this 30 percent discount work on everything from the site, except sauron stuff?
If so, I think a strider knife is in my future

LewisD
10-11-2004, 03:49 PM
Yeah only the Sauron collection is exempt.

I just got Anduril and LWK for only $216.99!!! That is the price for one sword at some sites!

Orange hilts? I think the "white knives" have always had an almost orange color...at least the original props did...

Another deal that is below wholesaler cost. Why? It makes no sense really. The only reason I can think of is this company needs some money badly right now because they require some of it up front. Why else would someone in their right mind take a loss on this. Just smells fishy.

It's always good to share deals with board members, but I will stick with the retailers on this board that have earned my trust and business with customer service and fair prices (and participation on this board, not just with "dealer" stuff but with regular discussion).

I don't know, the whole AITO thing doesn't sit well with me for some reason. I think it might be hurting some of the other retailers as well. I'd hate to think of droves of people cancelling their preorders with other dealers to save a few bucks.

Don't want to sound hostile either, these are just some concerns of mine. This is nothing personal, I am not a confrontational guy - just thinking of the general health of the market I guess.

By all means you guys go and enjoy your deals. :elf

LewisD
10-11-2004, 04:21 PM
I think there are alot of people on this board who will vouch for AITO...The only "negative" I've heard is that shipments are a little slow, but considering the huge discount, I don't mind at all.

As far as this having an effect on other retailers, I'm sure it does. Personally, I already have a few UC pre-orders with another retailer. And I've decided NOT to cancel those orders out of respect for all that individual has done for our community. My guess is that AITO buys MASSIVE quantities of swords in bulk, to get a cheaper rate; thus the deposit/pay ahead policy. I don't really mind.

Been thinking along AdamK's sentiments myself. I wish AITO (and JSAuction) all the best in their business, but frankly don't know if this is the way to do it. Sorry. :dunno

I don't see anything wrong with it either, as I said at the end of my post, and I know what capitalism is but I guess wetanut summed up my entire thoughts on this in one simple sentence. I'll say no more.

Everybody,

I can stop posting the AITO deals - I won't mind one bit.

I'm not trying to ruffle anybody's feathers here at all, I'm
only trying to pass on some money savings to boardmembers.

Nothing less, nothing more. I do get a referral, but that's
not a big deal to me either way. Nice, but doesn't impact
my posting of deals either way. I'd gladly do it for nothing,
as I did on the Monsters in Motion RWoS deal for $275 each.

I don't know the affect these deals may have on other sellers
or the marketplace in general, but I've bought, and will still
buy from EVERY board seller here. AITO is one of MANY good
sellers available to boardmembers. Bob, Adam, Mike, Marc, and
any others I've missed all have great service and great pricing.
Don't cancel your existing orders - keep them in place and
continue to support our several fantastic boardmember sellers.

I do have to say, that in the grand scheme of 8,500 Gandalf on
Shadowfax Statues available, the amount available in the deal
that was posted shouldn't even make a blip on the radar.
It is just a very nice deal to be had by a boardmember if they
choose to use it.

I'm just making one more ordering option available for the
board, and pointing it out clearly for all here to see.

My best to everybody. :grouphug :grouphug

Hello every one!

I thought from previous posts back in the summer that we were all past this. But seems that AITO is once again back in the hot seat.

There have been several members from this board that have bought and received from us. We have provided above and beyond the call of duty customer service to everyone in hopes that we can build a strong and trusting relationship.

One thing I hate more than anything is assumptions. Because quite frankly NO ONE knows anybody on the internet. We only deal with each other via cyber. I have NEVER encouraged anyone to cancel orders anywhere even more so on LE items because my friends it is a catch 22. For instance one customer from here was in a dilemma on whether he should cancel with someone else because our prices on the Saroun Collection was cheaper. I point blank told him, I can not help you there we have NO IDEA if all the orders we have placed is going to be here. I told him we are not charging credit cards till they ship. He decided to go ahead and place an order. I told him if where he had an order shipped and charged first he was more than welcome to cancel his order with AITO. I was not steering away a customer I was only being honest bottom line. Well low and behold we got notification on Thursday of last week that 6 helms were shipping the next day. I immediately emailed him as he was number 4 on the list this helped with the dilemma on that one item.

Now back to the assumptions, no one really knows anybody. Stop analyzing what AITO does accept the fact we have a great deal at the moment. These deals do not last forever only a certain amount of time this is just the welcome mat to some customers and also give everyone a shot to collect. Does AITO need money? Hell who does not?? :lol
are we going bankrupt to where we are dieing for money? NO
And to answer someone's post up there on charging right now. I think it states why on our website. You have a choice, either a deposit or full payment, we have even offered to hold and not charge the CC right a way we are doing that with 5 customers now. So if we were in desperate need of money I do not think we would be doing that. How we run our business works for us. It may not for some, but it does for us. We have some advantages to where we can offer these prices. I am trying really hard to get to know the customers and people out here. But it seems that you are damned if you do and damned if you do not. If you charge too much you are ripping people off, if you charge right around like everyone else you are not cheap enough, then if you offer a better deal than the next you are a crook or in dire straits for money! :dunno
You have a choice "Buy or do not BUY"
If you have bought from AITO before then Great! I thank you all for your comments on us. If you have not bought then do not accuse unless you have dealt with us one on one.

I hope that Jim and I have not offended anyone and if that is the case then AITO will gladly not offer special deals such as this. Makes no difference to us, we are only here to try and help others be able to collect on a very limited budget. We were not here to hurt anyone, take away from anyone, or steal business from anyone. If you all would prefer Jim not to rely any thing on AITO's sales then I am sure he will not mind more for him! :dance
But I hope I have not offended anyone with my reply here. If you buy from us we will work hard for you not only on that sale but to keep us as a returning customer as well. As many will vouch here I am not that hard to get a hold of so if any of you have any problems or quesitons my door is always open!

Thank you! :)

So far, AITO has been great.

Shannon replies to my emails very quickly.

She even adjusted my orders for the Sauron helm and gauntlet since I ordered before the $30 discount for board members.

I have LOTS of orders placed with them because their prices are incredible and their customer service has been great.

This better not end up like Flickshop though! :(

It's a pleasure doing business with AITO.

I vouch for AITO as being a reputable dealer.

Shannon,

I value a retailer/seller that offers good prices. I and others here appreciate the special deals you are making on your site. Please do not be discouraged by a few nay-sayers.

I have not placed any orders yet, but I am considering a few items, especially the Legolas Knives and Free Scabbards. How long is this deal active? Please send me a private message or email if you do not want to reply here.

I can't believe there are still naysayers about AITO. I thought we had passed that point this summer. I can definitely attest to there business. Spectacular customer service, timely emails, just a great all around business topped only by the great deals she is able to offer.

Shannon has come through everytime and I wouldn't question these deals at all. Shannon I would also ask that you not judge the entire board for some views of the minority and keep the deals coming. Of course it may simply be that some are being very cautious because they weren't around for those great deals back in the summer. I know I was cautious at first, but you came through beautifully with amazing deals on the UC helms and I only hope I can work it out to take advantage of some more of these deals.

As far as JS's involvement, I can only say thankyou for looking out for us. Shannon has been around here since the summer and several of us have frequented her site since then, but there have been more who have not even though we have talked fairly frequently about the deals we get with her. It wasn't until JS actually spelled out these deals for us that board members really started taking advantage of them.

Thank you Shannon for the great deals and thank you JS for helping to remind of us of them. Keep them coming guys.

I think it's great that Shannon has come on here, hopefully she'll stick around. The more dealers we have the better it is for everyone I think.

Just one little point - I know we've usually let "I found a great deal" posts go on in this forum. But most dealers post their deals in the "sell/trade" or "dealers" forum. That's probably where these types of posts should go from now on.

Thanks everyone! I will stick around and I will not judge the entire board. I have too many returning customers here that have been so wonderful. It was this board that opened many gates for AITO. And I thank all of you for that, because of this board we have ventured with the Sideshow items and could not be happier not only with the sales but dealing with Sideshow has been the best experience for us. Being a retailer can be so very difficult when dealing with the manufactures but Sideshow is heaven sent! WONDERFUL people there! They know their stuff and above all they know how to treat their customers and their retailers. I LIKE that! :)

We will keep the deals coming! And I will remind the board members that want to announce here to place them in the correct forum.

Thanks again everyone! Keep on the lookout we will have special deals till Jan. 2005 :yay

PAYPAL is not working right. It is down in my opinion.

On other note, does anyone know if the UC long knives of Legolas are sharp like Aragorn's Knife? Can you kill an orc with them? :mwaha

It definitely works fine with the IE

I had no idea so many of you had done business with them. Guess I just wasn't paying attention this summer to those deals that were put up cause I don't remember them at all. :dunno

Alarms just went off when I saw so much stuff going below cost. Can't blame a guy for being cautious when it comes to this stuff. All of us here have either been scammed by someone or know multiple people who have been scammed. After all, Dustin once hung out on these boards too.

By the way Shannon your site doesn't work in the Mozilla Firefox browser. The frame for viewing content will only show about 5 lines of text so you have to constantly scroll.

Anyway I will say no more about the AITO stuff, enjoy your deals guys. :hat

Ok, I hope this does not sound bad, but what does this quote mean:

"Thanks again everyone! Keep on the lookout we will have special deals till Jan. 2005"

What happens in January? Does the company shut down and keep our preorder money? I am wondering why there is a specific date listed....I am probably freaking out about nothing but would like an explanation.

Again, so far Shannon has been great to deal with and I have a lot on order but this quote caught my eye.

Shannon7112
10-12-2004, 09:06 AM
Man you all are hard to keep up with! :)

Okay...first let me answer the question on the deals till Jan. 2005 first of all ummm....no we are not closing and keeping everyones money:p Second we will have special deals till then because of the holidays coming up. We were going to do a Halloween special but I think that would be too much at the moment. As we are SLAMMED pretty hard at the present time due to the sales. I will be working over time to get orders situated. :thud

Sorry to give a heartattack on that statement I was only stating to be on the lookout because we will have deals till then that we will NOT have again for awhile. Not because of loss of money by any means, just because we can not have sales like this all the time because believe it or not I like to sleep every once in a while and I like to have a day off! :wave

On paypal I think it is having some probs at the moment because it is pulling up VERY SLOW. We will take paypal it is an option for customers. I can not place it out there because the bank I deal with would not allow it! >: but I can set up a private link for those that would like to have that option. If you do please provide the items that you are wanting to purchase and I will email you the link back where you can purchase! send an email to shannon@angelsintheoutfield.net

I will have a link real soon out there that will not be listed on the site with the option to pay with paypal. But please be aware that we do not take paypal on some Pre-orders. We have no control over the funds once you send money to paypal it is there. It is really up to the customer but we do not like doing it that way. But we will work with you on it.

Did I cover everyone? if not just give me shout in email! :)

Viking,

All UC plaques have anchors and studds that support the swords really well. That said, I don't have a child who could possibly bump into one, so you may want to place the swords in places where that can't happen, especially with Legolas' Knives and Aragon's Knife, which are both sharp-edged. Most of the rest of the swords are false-edged...

I sorry Darkknight NYC :( these deal do not last forever. So I hope all will have a chance to collect. Remember we will hold an order for thirty days and we will not charge your card this is an option we are only doing for the SS board.

BTW, if you all happen to do this PLEASE put in the message/comments box upon checkout that you are requesting this and how you want to pay we will even split it up for you if need be. I know pay days are every two weeks for most people in America! ;) so we are willing to help you out there. Other wise if you send an email requesting this it might get lost in the shuffle and I may not get it right away. But once the order is placed it is printed and I have to scope out every detail of that order and I will see the Message ASAP.

And yes if you are in Texas you get charged 6.25 tax.

Another issue real quick not only did sales pick up but also we have a TON of backorders in. In which this is added to the load everyone be patient we have a great deal of orders to get out and we are working around the clock. We are trying to get caught up before xmas hits! We will have a very good sale at that time it will start early due to having to ship items.

Thanks everyone!
