Futurama renewed for 13 new episodes and potentially as many as 26!

After Katey 'Leela' Sagal announced in February that there would be more Futurama episodes, Maurice 'Morbo' LaMarche chimed in today to give further details:

13 new episodes have been ordered, with an additional 13 optional. This is apart from the 13 episodes that will air beginning in June, 2011, on Comedy Central.

While not an "official official" announcement, it does look a lot like Fry & Co will be staying on TV for a while.

On a related note, watch LaMarche congratulating William Shatner for his 80s birthday (and announce the Futurama deal).

This is why Canada is America's hat.

I'm just not a huge Futurama fan. It's alright, but meh. I wouldn't care if it was canceled.
