I just called SS because I never even got the 15-20 day notice ( or 20-25 day, whichever it was ). I checked my account with them and the order is there and placed, but no e-mails. I had to leave a message with them and gave my order number so I hope to hear back soon that everything is ok.

Same here, but I'm from the EU, so I guess this is normal. The newsletter said Anakin is arriving in the EU warehouse within the next 30 days. Same for the General Grievous Exclu PF.

Cool. I can't wait. I'm really hoping the reason we had to wait so long to receive Luke from other dealers is because SS was staggering shipping those figs on account of moving into the new digs... let's hope we all have Anakin in our hands before the end of May.

Yeah, his lips do look kinda funny, but I bet it won't look so bad in person.

I still think this was the start of the customization of Anakin. The skin tone looks ok to me but his lips look funky if this hasn't been changed at all. I'll wait to give my final thoughts until mine gets here.

Production pics rocked as did the amazing final approved sculpt by Andy B as we saw in the production blog

This Asian market sculpt is missing the chin cleft, the lips are markedly smaller and missing detail above the lips, eyes changed under and between the eyes (missing detail) and the paint apps are not correct; skin tone, lip color and eyeliner (maybelline version?)

However, I am reserving ANY judgment until I have him in hand.

It may also be time to begin an Ani Image thread now that pics are showing up...

So I'm gonna start one and hope some of you guys post these pics on it

I can understand the disappointment. But look at it this way: Anakin comes with a 30 days return guarantee, right? If you don't like him after you've seen him in person, you can send him back.
I'm looking forward to receiving him. He'll look better in person, I'm sure about that.

I think it's totally unfair of Sideshow to wet our appetites for the prototype and then give us...#2. Please Sideshow, tell us we are wrong and that the production figures do indeed look like the one at ToyFair.

We pre-ordered Anakin with the idea that we were getting a figure resembles the prototype. Almost 6 months have past, and we haven't had any reason to doubt otherwise. And now this...Sideshow...?:confused:

Whether sideshow confirms or denies that is the production figure doesn't really matter, because unless you are going to call and cancel immediately without ever seeing it for yourself you're going to get one. And when you get one if it looks like that you can send it back as I am sure almost everyone will.

Personally I'm doubtful its going to look like that.
1. I'm almost certain the Toyfair pics were indeed production pics. I'm gonna see if I can refind that on the site in hopes of putting this damnable paranoia to bed.
2. I own 16 SS 12" figures and all look just as good as the original prototype.
3. This is one picture and we've all seen at least one picture that makes something cool look bad. Look at the Maul bust pics thread the first pic looks bad subsequent ones look much better
4. Alot of figures that consistently look bad in photos look much better in person.
5. If it looks like that sideshow has a serious problem and is about to lose alot of money from people sending this back.

SSC Tom - The Jedi Luke is 100% production, Anakin and Obi-Wan are more than 50% production, and Kit Fisto is about 80% production.

Seretur - What do the percentages mean exactly, Tom?

SSC Tom - The percentage are mostly fabrics - a lot of the fabric is still prototype.

bronco1855 - Head sculpts are all production on Ani and Obi?

SSC Tom - I believe the heads are almost all production, except for Mace Windu on which some paint finesse remains.

Its funny cause i see all these great pics of anakin on various sites and think man i can not wait to get this figure. Then I see one horrible picture on a site i can not even read and i start to go into panic mode. I have calmed myself down by looking at all the good pics and have slipped back into my euphoric state of waiting for my 12" anakin that will arive in perfect condition

That's EXACTLY how I feel Darth Rage.... I remember the craziness once Luke went up, and the reaction to the pics was....less positive than expected.... And now all I hear about is the praise for the sculpt.

I think that everything will be fine once we actually have Anakin in our grubby little hands, we will have tangible evidence with which to make an honest decision on how much we like or dislike the figure. Until then, I will not let anything mess with my head.:D

For everyone else's sanity....I suggest a similiar approach

You can use Babelfish to translate the Chinese forum web page. It gives you a faint idea of what it says. For example:

OMG
What his mouth has
The factory female worker is treats as him the Chinese baby's cherry small mouth in the picture

We all know what OMG stands for. The reaction to the paint job is the same all around the world!

I think that "factory female worker" is a reference to this lady:

I think whoever posted those pics either works for Sideshow or knows someone who does (the pieces are made in China, after all) which strengthens my feeling that this Anakin was a reject. :horse

I will be outright shocked if they really shipped orange Anakins. I don't believe Sideshow would do that, or even want to do it. Chinese factory workers make mistakes, no doubt about that, but I really find it hard to believe they think white people are actually orange. Someone would have caught that big a mistake.

I believe that it is either:

-stage one of the guy's custom

or

-a poorly color corrected photo

The first pictures of the Obi-Wan PF came out of China. The first pictures of the Grievous PF came out of China. The first pictures of Anakin came out of China. I don't think that it's a reject, I think it's the real thing. But I will try not to get carried away until I see mine in person--the only one that really matters to me! :D

Hey, I can honestly say I have never ever been offended by any joke... ever.

I can watch South Park or any other equally "offensive" show and not be hurt or anything. And even some of the comments here that many thought to be of poor taste, I found nothing to be upset about.

Yeah, I'm not really worried about the pics.... I think that things will work out just fine. The figure will look great, I think. And I'll be happy when Dusty comes along and calms everyone down...

How long do you think until Dusty or someone else from Sideshow chimes in here? I've noticed a lot of people (myself included) wondering when SSC's site was going to post production pictures, but no one that I saw has been wondering when they were going to confirm or deny these pictures here on the site.

It would settle this particular matter pretty dang quick.
I doubt anyone will, after all unless people are going to cancel without even seeing it, it hardly makes a difference whether they confirm or deny. Besides this is a completely unofficial message board. As for them posting production pics, I don't think they usually do unless the production pic is significantly different than the prototype, PF Han was one they did it with, and I think there might have been another. Usually there is no need.

This happens every time another figure is being released... the panic sets in a few days before shipping, when the crap pics from asia are released...sending everyone into a fury... and once several of us have one and the pics start going up.... people are happy again...

It's just the way of things, I'm afraid.. I just like to sit back and relax until I have something tangible to make a decision on... :D

Hey, I can honestly say I have never ever been offended by any joke... ever.

I can watch South Park or any other equally "offensive" show and not be hurt or anything. And even some of the comments here that many thought to be of poor taste, I found nothing to be upset about.

I'm not pissed at you, or even Duckgoo... You guys have your opinions, that is fine by me. But to take offense at something that was very obviously a joke, that's just silly. I've never done a bad thing to anyone who did not deserve it, and I've always held my tongue when it comes to alot of stuff.

Worst case scenario we can't stand to not have an Anakin figure, so we keep the drag queen oompa loompa and CustomMikey gets alot of figures to repaint. Mikey, better go buy some brushes and post a price page just in case. :lol
