View Full Version : 12" Anakin: Which to Keep - Exclusive or Sith Version?

So, I've decided I don't want two versions of the 12" Anakin figures. Which of the two would you keep? The Sideshow Exclusive or Sith Apprentice?
I'm leaning towards the Sith version.

Well, which do you like more? Sith or Jedi? Keep whichever side you like more.

I personally would go with the Sith Version.

I voted sith but I'm personally keeping both. They aren't the same character. Anakin was a good guy. Vader is a bad guy. I know rather obvious but its not the same which is why I'm keeping both.

I don't need to have two versions either, but it's gonna be a tough decision, in the end I might have to flip a coin!

I would keep the Exclusive Anakin. Less available than the regular version and the Sith eyes version.

Thats why I didn't even order the Sith version... even though it is cool I didn't need two Anakins that were that close.

I thought about that as well but I do like the Sith version better which ultimately should be the most important factor in making a decision like this.
Even with the higher ES, in the long run the Sith version may end up being in higher demand.
I'll reserve my decision until I see them both together, side by side, then probably decide to keep both. But the Ani Ex is far more limited, more of a true Exclusive in terms of Edition size.

Exactly said.... Plus, just for completists sake, I want them both. (I plan on displaying the box ala book case style and to have a missing box would be as charming as a toothless smile.) :lol

I ordered them both andI will keep them both...Ultimately they are NOT the same character.....one is a Jedi and one is a Sith..sure the likeness is similar but they are not the same character, IMO...latter down the line when OT Vader is realesed you may ask yourself if you want 2 Vaders..."Sith eyes Anakin" IS Darth Vader....

Do the smart thing and get both. If you're not in love with the exclusive regular, sell it. You should be able to get at least $100 for it and fund another 12".

I collect only the Bad guys of the Star wars line....So you know my choice.
I like the bad guys better than the good guys so I am keeping the Sith version and give the regular version to my wife beause she has the hots for the actor  :monkey4

A Sith is better than a Jedi... and there are only 4 Sith, so they're also much more rare.

Yes and no. In the movies, not at all. In the Clone Wars, kinda. Asajj Ventress was a Dark Jedi but not a Sith (she thought she was though but Dooku set her straight). As far as the rest of the EU, I'm sure there is somewhere but I'm not completely up to date with everything EU.

I'm keeping them both. As far as I'm concerned, there's Anakin Skywalker, and then there's Darth Vader. Two different characters, and each figure exudes completely different personalities (even if it is only a small cosmetic change in the long run).

If I was forced to choose, I would have to go with Sith Anakin, just to have a few more display options, especially with Obi-Wan. I have both on order though, so Anakin will go with some of the other good guys, and Sith Anakin will likely fight Obi-Wan. Until I rearrange my shelves for the 12,000 time.
Oooh, a female Sith...her time of the month is the month!

I love that line! Man, it's amazing how much of an improvement that Matt Stover had on that character. The book was much more detailed and made more sense than the movie. Even if it is my second favorite film in the entire series....shows how good that book was.
I plan on keeping both of them... As said before, he is not the same character at all and his body language on my shelf will indicate this. It won't look like 2 Anakins, but two entirely different people. :D

I would keep both one to display with the Jedi and the other with the Sith.
Asajj Ventress was a Dark Jedi but not a Sith (she thought she was though but Dooku set her straight).
It would be cool to have her as a Sith figure. I'm not holding my breath on it though.:monkey2

I plan on keeping both, but if push came to shove I would drop the Sith Eyes version first. The reason for me is that the Ex Anakin can easily serve double duty as a Sith or a Jedi (his eyes weren't yellow the whole time). Also he is the original Anakin figure and more of a true exclusive (1750 Vs 6000).

She was in the EU poll but lost out. Mikey had a custom one of her that's pretty good (very perky though:monkey5 ). I have GG's version of her and it's awesome. Maybe one day SS will get around to another EU character.

Becaue of the Rule of Two she wasn't a Sith - but in Clone Wars she sort of was promised by Dooku to train as a Sith - but was defeated by Anakin before she could.
Darth Talon is a female Twilek Sith in the new Star Wars Legacy Comic - red Twi'lek with Black Sith Tattoos. I don't collect it so I don't know much more than that.

Do not question the intentions or motivations of the Crusade. We haven't the time to entertain those who are infused with space battles.
Discerment of the potential magnitude of the might of this Crusade is waisted on those who refuse to look beyound the paradox of their own exsitence.

It appears as though this crusade embraces an ideal to which I cannot adhere. I feel it is not right to demean "space warriors" or others as lesser entities. If that is the demeanor of those who espouse this effort, I hereby denounce the cause and crusade. I suggest that the "paradox of existence" is only an enigma to those who perceive it as such, and is not a paradox, but a purpose, to those who can see beyond their own temporal crusades. The reign of a king of Darkness only lasts until the dawn. Your dark shadows do not hold sway over me!
Ha ha ha just kidding, I just wanted to wax eloquent for a bit. I haven't even seen the films, so I'm sure it's a cool flic. If you can support my Faramir craze, I'll support the crusade too!

I would rather keep both I just ordered the exclusive edition for $84 because I didnt have it. I will now sell my regular Anakin but I would say that the two are different enough to warrant getting both or maybe its the completionist in me.

I agree with Mikey. The more I look at the two side by side, the more I like the Sith version. More iconic, more unusual, more distinctive.
I'm a completist with this line so far, but if there was one figure (up to the 4 in my hand - Luke, Anakin, Kit and Sith Ani) that I would have second thoughts about, it would be original Anakin.

I just recieved my Sith anakin today.. and All I can say is WOW!! This fig has blown me away!!!! You can nit pic everything about everyfig... that being said.. If you like Sith keep him.. If you rather have the Good Anakin keep that one.
I only ordered the Sith Anakin due to my favorite scene in ROTS is the march on the temple. I got lucky they made a sith version!:D
I received mine too, and am continually *shocked* how poorly photos, even the good ones, represent these figures. Its awesome in every way, and unlike Jedi Anakin, ol' Sith Eyes arrived with his arm firmly attached!
I really think the paint apps are great as well, and the eyes have some sort of coloring that gives the illusion of moisture. FANTASTIC.
Will probably end up being the "Bespin Luke" of the PT.
As I was opening it the wife said, "Uh, shouldn't we make the 'which Anakin are we keeping decision' before you do that?"
"Um, well its important that I inspect it either way..." :monkey3
Maybe I'm just not as critical but these figures leave *so* little to complain about IMO.

It may seem a trifle but on my Vaderkin his gauntlet show some wear and is painted to look a bit dirty. Same with the boots. As opposed to my anakin who has a glossy black gauntlet and boots.
