We wanted to show you guys a pic of Lance next to the Hot Toys head we measured to get his size, the HT Rhodey head from Iron Man 1. We made Lance a little thinner than him because he is a little thinner. (Thanks to Marvel's Salvador Larroca for the picture!).

LITTLE LOST GIRL

UPDATE OCTOBER 2012

Right now our limited edition LOST GIRL figure is planned for early 2013. For a body we are thinking this 21CM Obitsu. Here is a pic of the Obitsu next to a Hot Toys Narrow. Judging from the size test, looks about right.

Newt will also have her costume available and new hands made for the body we're using. Bishop will be just the head since his jumpsuit was nothing particularly difficult to kit-bash unless you guys tell me otherwise!

Aaaand I should say that it's not so easy to bash movie accurate Bishop at all. He has some lean zip fasteners on his jumpsuit (now it's pretty hard to get suits with correct zips, also it should fit to the new gen of bodies), he has the belt and the bag (like Indiana Jones, see shots from Lab-scene), also it's near to impossible to buy Ripley's boots these days (cast definitely needed!). So I'm voting for the whole accessories set, correct me if I'm wrong here. :) And it may be delivered without body, coz really - it's not a problem to buy a body. ))))

Bishop is on the list for one of the next heads our lead sculptor Sean Dabbs (Catwoman, Penguin) will be doing, so Bishop will be finished within the next few month (fingers crossed) along with the dissected face-hugger on a tray! :)

Can't say that I like what I see now.
He looks too old for Bishop "Aliens" and the hair location and shape looks pretty strange too. So far I think that a lot of work should be done.
If you would like to go with the ultimate Bishop - do the best! ;)

Hmmm. I'd probably disagree with Raptor about the hair which I think looks correct but maybe he does look a bit too much like older Lance. Perhaps tone down the wrinkles a bit. You can certainly see the beginnings of the wrinkles in those screengrabs but they were perhaps less distinct in 1986.

I have to agree with the above posts. The WIP looks too old. The wrinkles really oughtta be less defined for Bishop from Aliens.

Good sculpts (that are unpainted) tend to look older than the subject since a good sculptor has captured every wrinkle. This one in particular too because the base color of the sculpt is dark. Once paint is applied - the light bouncing off of the sculpt is changed and the proper level of detail can be seen.

We are definitely down for variations of Lance. We love being able to do that. Right now, people have asked us for a Near Dark Henriksen before so I am going to start keeping the names on a list in the first post and see what kind of numbers we can get accumulate for him. :)

Nice start on Bishop. Now to make him accurate from the symmetrical model. The scar on his right cheek doesn't go as high up as the one on his left. Then add in the unevenness of his face.

Or how about just male and female switch-out chest pieces with the burster that we can plug onto any figure? Maybe with a small amount of articulation on the little guy?

It might make the figure a little bulkier, but it might be the easiest way. Rather than taking the figure apart. Maybe instead of sculpting too much interior of the chest, it could be mostly the burster coming out? If that makes any sense.

I like this face, honestly. It's little bit TOO symmetrically and that really brings some synthetic feelings about it. Good for the android. And I'm pretty sure that good paint-job could make it almost perfect. I like it.

And would like to believe that it would be release drilled or molded to fit HotTtoys neck joints.

Watch his face and you'll see the right cheek scar doesn't go up as high as the left one - that goes almost up to his eye. The right one stops at the raised area of the cheek.

His mouth sits higher on the right side than on his left, when in a neutral expression, giving it a skewed look.

And there's a trick to his hairline that gives him his characteristic look.

Hey all, just wanted to give a mass WGP update that we were told all of our massive printing order is supposed to be done by the end of the week (including the later add-ons line Jensen Ackles, Lance Henriksen, etc ). :hi5:

From there they get shipped to Sean in the UK for inspection, which he then cleans and get cast. More updates once we get them in hand!

Then, Dormal just showed us these neck adaptors he made we will be sending instead or drilling, so you put these on the body and just glue the heads onto them.

Yes, it is an incredible Lance Henrikson sculpt.
The point I was making is that Bishop's hair is not smoothly slicked back like the the sculpt's is.

I think its more of a practicality issue, if he did the hair like that in 1/6 there would be numerous printing/casting issues. Plus if it was spiked it would ruin the silhouette of bishops head and look odd once in hand.

Who sculpted Bishop BTW rick? Him and Kirk are definitely my favorite of all the heads printed the likenesses are spot on :hi5:

That's very cool. A set of "Aliens" characters in 1:6 scale isn't really on my radar ( I do like the movie though ) but it could also be used in other displays....I always wondered how the Doctor & UNIT would handle the aliens. Or SHIELD.

I wish I could afford to get one of these Bishop heads, but I would need to get it painted by Pete Skywalker too since I can't paint worth a hoot. If I wasn't unemployed right now I would be ordering one of these in a heartbeat. Great job on the sculpt BTW, can't wait to see the head all painted up. Hopefully I will be able to get the dissection tray and boots when they are ready.

Actually, I was just about to post an update! Sean just got a big honkin box of Bishop heads from Dorgmal so Bishop orders will be getting mailed off next week!:panic: :hi5:

Each of the heads in our last massive print batch got sent off to different casters (three different ones), as opposed to having one person do all of them. The Star Trek Batch went to one guy doing 5 heads and three accessories, The Supernatural batch went to another doing 4 heads and 2 accessories, and the Indy, Bishop, and two Galactica heads went to Dorgmal. He's finished the Bishop and Galactica heads first. That's just the order it happened in. They all got sent off at the same time.

Am I happy the other castings have been so slow? Of course not. We are hoping to hear back with progress from the other casters soon.

We will actually not have a price on the DISSECTION TRAY SET until it and all of it's accessories are printed and cast- A) because we need to see if the tools we are making are castable, and B) Because printing prices fluctuate. Sorry!

(Interest lists are non-commital so if you ever need to back out it is no problem.)

One thing that always confused me about this scene is the fact that, since facehuggers have acid for blood wouldn't all this be incredibly dangerous and melt all the tools? :)

I believe they said in the first movie that the acid blood is neutralized after the death of the Facehugger. I could be remembering wrong though, but I believe that is the deal. I still think those gloved hands could be great for customs. Maybe the dissection tray could come with gloved and ungloved hands?

The shoes and Dissection tray are planned to be released and completed at the same time. I suspect the tray will need to be carefully prepped to be castable with all the tools. To be safe, I'll say a Christmas release date for both, but it's early days yet. If the tray ends up being Christmas we will release the Reeboks earlier. We'll let you know when we know. (laugh)

Okay, here's a crazy idea for you guys to chew over ...

Now that you've got the Bishop digital sculpt, is there any chance you might consider doing a second version from the end of the movie? Meaning, a version after he's been torn in half?

I could see it being a two piece set. First, of course, would be a head. Maybe with messed up hair and a distressed expression?

And maybe the second piece could be kind of an insert of his guts that we could glue onto the torso of a bisected figure body?

Just a thought I wanted to throw out there ...

Tbh wip pics are never usually a good idea till he is 90%. His skins gone from lobster colored to gravy, brorange, pinkish and now hes settled on human like. With all the washes and technique used in painting him it tends to result in panic if they are shown to early :lol

OPEN INTEREST LIST ANNOUNCEMENT

Once our deluxe Newt is done (with attacking Face Hugger accessory) WGP will move on to doing other character heads from "Aliens" (EARLY 2013). We are always pretty surprised to get people still asking for Ripley, Hicks, and Hudson in PM requsts, so we would like to start an Aliens head interest list from you guys so we can gauge who has the most interest. It can be for anyone and for as many characters as you'd like. As always, we need 16 people interested per character to get them made.

Thanks for all the feedback so far! The interest lists will be kept in the first few posts of the thread. We really do want all of your ideas and interest, because we love Aliens but need your backing interest if we are going to make anything.

Bucky, in case you missed the way I just slid the announcement in a few posts above, we will be making the attacking Face Hugger as an accessory with Newt. We will let you buy extras as needed. :)

As far as the armor, Dorgmal is one of our casters and to say he is enthused is an understatement (laugh). He also told us he may be willing to offer the armor again if there is a demand, so go ahead and let us know here.

WGP has a few other ideas on a different fronts- accessories and dios.
For accessories, we thought we could offer VICTIM sets:
A) a victims head with face hugger (attached and in pain, without),
B) a screaming victim head a chest burster.

C) If there was interest we could also offer the eggs (closed, opening, open), and make the open one with a an optional face hugger lunging out.

Then we were thinking of two dios that could go with them:

1) A hive wall section for cocooned person and flooring (that could link).

2) a generic sci-fi med bay. There would be a (swivel) med table that could stand or lay flat to strap a victim/patient to, an x-ray of the facehugger tube down the victims throat, and a dead, removed face-hugger in a pan on a table with acid burns burning through.

That way you could have a victim on the table screaming as a chest burster is be ripping out of him. Maybe on an alternate second table could be a person with a face-hugger still attached lying next to him.

I always imagine this with Hicks and Bishop bursting through some door (laugh). Our dissection tray would fit nicely in here. Facehuggers in light-up tanks in the background would be icing on the cake. :)

I just got pics back of the test wig for Romana from Doctor Who and I am VERY happy with the results. The artist said her method is sort of an industry secret, so not made the way a normal wig is. This is actually made into a molded skull cap.

This is what we wanted to see would work to use the same method for our Newt (and later for an ALIEN Ripley)

FYI- it will be a month or so until we print the Shoes and Dissection tray. The reason is because our moldmakers/caster are already swamped with the huge orders we have for heads already printed they need to get caught up on. This is alright though because that means by the time we are ready to print them, maybe some other things will be getting printed with them? :wink1:

We are also looking into getting the tools make in metal to be stronger than plastic. Feel free to send links if anyone has any contacts/suggestions!

Robin at 1/6 scale king will take care of you with the patch. They have a lot of Aliens patches and some walking dead patches and ton of other stuff. Not to mention you will be treated like a king. Great place to get some cool customizing stuff.

Get some fabric fusion from wal mart - they are easy to apply and are incredible, can't say enough great things about Robin and the product.

I wanted to give a status update on some of our Aliens things for you, troops! I updated a while ago in one of the two Aliens threads, but you know how quickly those things get lost!

DISSECTION TRAY AND REEBOK BOOTS

Neither are printed yet. We have been waiting. The hold-up is that most people won't order the shoes alone to save on shipping so we would want to release them with the tray, and with the tray we needed to figure out how to make Bishops tools. Ideally we want them to be metal because plastic would be too fragile that small. We JUST learned what we need to do to make them. Now that we know the method we can look into it.

So we will release the Bishop boots with either with the tray or with Newt, whichever happens first. Ideally all together. We also want to release our Ripley head with the full Newt since we like theme-ing and timing things, and also because Ripley can use the same boots. :)

Hey gang,

You will be seeing some changes coming up with Warriors Gate Productions as we streamline the way we do things to be able offer more heads per year with greater frequency. Right now my partner in WGP and our lead sculptor, Sean Dabbs, is only able to sculpt for us in his free time as this is a second job. (In his day job he sculpts freelance for McFarlane, Big Chief, etc.) This is why when a WGP interest list “converts” and hits 16 interested it takes us a while to start it. We have tried having him go full time before but we still needed to refine our system a bit more to make it viable.

Sean can sculpt approximately three heads a month depending on what outside jobs he is doing. I would love to be able to have Sean complete at least two new heads a month here. This will have us fly on completing our already converted interest lists that have reached 16 and for our future projects. That would be pretty sweet and would help to really us explore the shows, movies, and universes we are already doing and populate them faster. Imagine a schedule where, say you were a “GOLDEN GIRLS ”or “THE NOTEBOOK” fan and we could offer you multiple character heads from it within the year, perhaps as sets (ex- two heads every three months) on a planned schedule, depending on character interest of course.

We realize we’ve had bugs to work out with our past processes. We are always working behind the scenes to make things run smoother. 2012 was very frustrating with the bottle-necking with casters and the failures with trying new ones. Each head we make will still take an approximate three month course from finished sculpt to release. The difference is we want to start at least sending two new heads at the printer every month so we will be ideally releasing two every month once we get to the point they are being cast.

Our biggest question mark with doing this is insuring actual commitment for a character from the forum after we have expressed interest. We can have 70 people express interest but only half follow through. Clearly that number will get better with a faster turn around and being able to show painted protos through our proto painter Salvador Larroca. What we want to do now, if we have for example 31 people interested in a Kurt Russell “MacCready” from the Thing, is to collect a small $10 “interest” deposit per character before we start to have us begin to insure the interest is really there. This is particularly important with interest lists at lower numbers (Ex: just “16”). Insuring interest is there will help us fly ahead and take on these multiple project with more certainty. The rest of the head payment would be due later on any time after the master is printed through release.

Also, from now on new heads will be offered for only a limited time and will no longer be kept available open ended. We will do second runs only as demand warrants it. We are confident in our abilities. If in the end you are not happy with the head the $10 deposit could instead be applied to a different character deposit for or order.

We have a lot of heads and 1:6 prop items planned for this year. “Converted” interest lists we are moving to complete soon are JUSTIFIED, The THING, Kim Bassinger, Tracey Walters, Margot Kidder, Sarah Douglas, DAWN OF THE DEAD, DEADWOOD, and Leeloo from FIFTH ELEMENT, while other universes we plan to focus a lot on this year are ILLEGAL ALIEN, ILLEGAL ALIENS, and THE STALKING DEAD. This is not a full list of everything we are doing. There will be other projects. This is just the quick bullet points.

We will discuss more of our plans for each universe in their own respective threads.
