it came on an hour before the newsletter came out. 7:30 and the newsletter came out at 8:30 (central time). i'm sure there will be something online soon.

Maybe Sideshow should have mentioned this in last weeks newsletter because the thing they were advertising was OVER when I got the newsletter

That used to happen to me all the time before they switched to the online newsletter account!!! I would get an e-mail advertising an item going up for sale after it had already sold out. I love the new system so much...

Well, I watched the 7 minutes. It dashed any hopes I had of this being any good. It looked like a teen angst drama from the WB. I guess that's good if you're into that sort of thing.

My hopes for this film are already dashed, and I haven't even seen the seven minute clip yet...

Thanks for the link! But boooo, it's in Windows Media instead of Quicktime - I hate Windows Media!! Even on PCs it never works right for me, always stalls in the middle and says "buffering" and then never starts back up :( From the first 30 seconds or so that I DID see, it definitely looks like a soap opera - but I'm still gonna see it! That part when the Golden Gate gets torn out of the ground looks pretty awesome...

Dusty, try downloading the WMV player. It's free (trial version with some limitations, full version = $) and should resolve your problem: it's a tool for viewing Windows media on a Mac (OS X.3.9). I have it installed, and it's great.

I know I've been very sceptical about this movie, but I liked what I saw. The plot seems very cheesy and melodramic but oh well.....I already got the tickets. :monkey5

I didn't see anything I would deem a spoiler. It just elaborated on things we already new about.

And screw all of you nay sayers, I thought it looked awesome. I can't wait for this. I put in my vacation to take a half day to see this in two weeks. Still worried about a rushed ending to tie everything up but I'm just as excited as ever.

I agree Loki... I liked what I saw and am still very excited to see this movie. I have doubts about the director and with a rushed ending (as you said), but I would not miss the end of the X-saga for the world.

Besides, the optimist in me won't allow me to be too harsh on it. Same goes for Superman... :lol

I'm really excited about this! I think the series has encapsulated the X-Men very nicely. I don't need to see every favorite character under the son. Apocalypse and Cable don't really fit into this world.
And what are the X-Men comics but super-powered soap operas? Think about it. The big moments in comics amount to: People returning from death, weddings, people finally getting together, love triangles, love children, and sudden betrayals. Without the soap opera elements we just have a bunch of muties kicking ass, which is fine for 30 minutes, but I like some more meat for my $22 (thats NYC prices for two, my wife is stoked about it too.)
The effects look great. I never questioned Juggy and Kitty going through the floor. I just believed it.
The story idea is perfect, with the humans turning around and trying to do the exact same thing Magneto attempted to do in the first one: make everyone like everyone else. Perfect.
I'm in for the movie AND the DVD!!!

And while I'm here, I don't know why everyone is down on Brett. I enjoyed Rush Hour, and Red Dragon was SOOO much better than Hannibal, which meeans Brett managed a franchise picture better than Ridley Scott. So there.

There was a tv spot that showed him right after the sentinel head came down and he says class dismissed, so it is propably only in the danger room and therefore should look a bit cheesy.

wont spoil anything but I'll let you know i9ts a worthy addition to the franchise. Way too short imo, I really wanted more and more but I'm overall very positive on the movie.

Just got back from a midnight showing. The film is ok nothing super special IMO. There are some editing issues I think that if taken care of in a directors cut can make this movie really awesome. I do think they played Storm up too much and Wolverine not enough. It was worth going and I'll buy it on DVD.

I watched the Midnight showing as well. I am very disappointed at the way it turned out at the end. As an avid X-men comic fan, the ending just didn't seem right. There was so much wrong with the way the characters were portrayed, that it's not even funny. THe movie was well made, great graphic effects, etc, but the plot just killed me. Go see it but don't get your hopes up.

Screw you guys, it was awesome. A lot must be lost in the translation from comic to movie and some of you just don't seem to want to understand that. A movie isn't going to come right from the pages, then it would just be a long drawn out soap opera.

You're right!! The first two were decent and had a lot in common with the comic books. I know you can't take everything from the comics to the movie but this had absolutely nothing. This one was directed by someone who obviously had never read a single X-men comic book before. I was hoping after the second one that we might see the real Phoenix or maybe even Sinister or Onslaught. The director had so many great options yet he chose this pathetic ending. A mutant rebellion with less than a 100 mutant. What bull****!!! I wish Brian Singer would have directed this one as well.

You also seem to think that the director writes the movie. He's given a script by a studio and told to direct it. I seriously doubt that Ratner had much say as to what got put into the script. Fox studios pays the bills and you're a fool if you don't think that they have the final say in EVERYTHING.

A director has a lot of say in what goes into the script and frequently even makes changes as the shooting commences. I doubt Ratner is a final cut director yet, but he has just as much or more influence on the final product as the studio does.

Not when the studio wants this to be a final movie in a series.
