Just read this. I remember hearing about SS doing a figure and some people interested. Here's a article I just read.

"Metal Gear Solid" On Film

Speculation has been flying about a silver screen "Metal Gear Solid" adaptation, but video game series creator Hideo Kojima has been tightlipped...until now.

Kotaku reports that in a recent broadcast of Hide-chan Radio, Kojima announced that MGS was indeed getting made into a feature film. "We're going to do it as a movie," he confirmed. "A Hollywood movie". When? The director was reluctant to give specifics, saying "I can't say when yet".

The first in the series of stealth-based games, which began back in 1998, follows an attempt to take back a secret military base which has been taken over by genetically enhanced soldiers who've got hostages in tow and a dangerous next generation nuclear weapon.

hmm... sounds pretty cool as long as its about the first MGS and not the second. as long as kojima is involved with the production it should be great.

I second that...If Kojima is given creative control it should come out pretty good.

Yeah, follow Sin City's lead and have him be as much a part of the film as possible. Those games are already better than most movies... and with a decent translation.... They will be awesome.

I'm super excited about it, I just hope they don't screw it up. :monkey1

Oh, and seeing as though this is similiar news and all (same genre)... Has anyone seen Mission Impossible III yet? I just got back from the theater... And wow... It's probably the best action movie I've seen in a long time, and I was really worried it would be crap.

If you like spy stuff and can still stomach Mr. Cruise... Give it a shot. It's worth it for the villian alone. Sweet movie, edge of your seat stuff...:D

Yeah, see I agree with you 100% about everything you just said. I really liked the first movie and while the second was good eye candy, it just lacked that punch needed to really make it great. As for Cruise, no matter what he does in his personal life.. I love his movies. Always have, always will.

And this one does not disappoint. Within the first minute, you are invested in everything from that moment on... The audience actually applauded at the end of the movie... That has not happened to me since opening night for Star Wars ROTS.. so, that's saying something.

J.J. Abrams did a bang up job!! More greatness from the guy behind Lost and Alias! I predict only more cool stuff from him in the future. :D

I really enjoyed M:I 3 as well.

Who do you guys think would make a good Snake? Kurt Russell was the model but he may be a bit old now... Hugh Jackman or Eric Bana would be my choice.

Eric Bana would be a good choice, but I almost prefer it to be animated like FFVII. That would be cool plus you can have David Hayter do the voice still. I am excited but also scared they might f_ck it up.

I hope they don't screw it up either. I am a big MGS fan and I am more than excited to see it come to the big screen. But because of that I also have high excpectations and I hope they'll have Kojima present during filming to guide them properly. As for the actor Hugh Jackman has the looks but Bana has the acting ability. We need a mix of both. :monkey5

I think either one would be good, Jackman is a decent actor but I still think no one is SS except Hayter. Hell even he looks like Iroquis Pliskin himself.
