There is no thread about Marvel Legends so I wanted to start one. Not sure if there is love for them here on the boards but I love them especially the toybiz days. I would say I own 99.8 of the toybiz line minus a few variants. I also have the hasbro ML but not all the target and walmart exclusives, that's what I really hate about collecting ML. But I'm really excited about the new release of the TRU 2 pack exclusive mainly of Deadpool and Winter Soldier. They were at my local TRU but sold out quick but the worker could not find it on the floors but it states in their computer that they had 10+ on hand when I called this Wednesday. How I know, because I went to TRU and a customer overheard me asking a worker if they had the new 2 packs and he told me it was in Wednesday and he saw them but people was grabbing them.

Anyways, I know I'll eventually find them but didn't want to take the chance and just purchased the Deadpool/Warpath and Deadpool/Warpath variant from ebay for $80 shipped, not bad because my local TRU sells them for $35 and toysrus.com has them for $30 but it's sold out. But I was able to order the Winter Soldier and Hulk 2 packs. I try to stay away from smaller figures but can't stay away from the Marvel Legends.

I have a few Marvel Legends. Used to pride myself on them, tried to get them all - then I bought Hot Toys Wolverine and decided not to waste any more cash on ML's.

I'm ok with the ones I have, most of the main characters so I'm not fussed. I'd say i've got around 50-60 so not that many. Over here in the UK they never really sold them in places.

How much did you get them for? Which ones are the short packed? I remember when the Captain America Face-Off 2 pack came out, people thought the short packed was the unmasked one, but in the end the masked one was the more rare one.

I tried to do the DCUC but they are worst to collect than ML because of the exclusives. I only got series 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,11 then I gave up. ML>DCUC

I would say DCU and ML are about the same in coolness factor but DCU loses out because of Mattel's ***-backwards distribution.

My buddy is about to sell his near-complete collection of Toy Biz MLs in his comic book store. We cleared out a spot and just have to finish pricing them. It's gonna be hard to resist picking up a few for myself. :lol

I'll agree the TB one was better but I'm not gonna shell out $200 for a 6" figure so the new one will suffice and it still looks pretty good imho. Still my fave Deadpool figure will allways be the first one from the early 90's.

I've got a bunch in a box in the closet. Before getting into 1/6 scale stuff, I tried to pick up the best versions of all my favorite characters. Nice because they are what I collected as a kid (Secret Wars first, then the Toy Biz stuff), except much more detailed and with more articulation. Just like DCUC, I would have gone nuts for these if I was a kid.

Yeah I'm talking about the Deadpool with the spring out dagger. He was the figure that got me into X-Men when I was about 7 years old. Up till then my life was Batman, TMNT and GI Joe and I knew nothing about X-Men but I picked DP up cause he looked like a ninja and I was obssesed with ninjas as a kid. From then I started watching the X-M animated series and got hooked.

It's funny all my friends hated me cause I'd never let anyone play with my Deadpool figure. All my other X-Men toys were fair game except Deadpool. Even I didn't really play with him cause I didn't want to get the paint scratched up.

ML's were pretty kewl. What I liked best about them was the scale difference of the figures.

The last series I collected was the one with Maestro then sold them all and pretty much all my stuff that wasn't 1/6. The only thing I kept was the BAF Sentinal.

Yeah, I still got that figure that shoots his hand out with the string, ML needs to release a version of him. Deadpool was a character that would kick your *** or get his *** kicked. But seems like sometimes he is holding back.

I used to be into the line really hardcore. I stopped once it started to wind down, and all of the store exclusive waves started popping up. By that time, Marvel Legends were off store shelves in my area anyways. I may have to pick up the Deadpool pack, though I have absolutely no interest in Warpath.

Nice score on the Deadpool's bro! As for the Marvel Universe I was just collecting the 2 packs and Captain America's. Over the weekend I picked up four 2-packs that I was missing and a Spiderman (the one that is upsidedown) since I picked up Hobgoblin and Greengoblin for $3. I also found a Marvel Legends Icon 12" Daredevil for $9 at Ross.

I'm digging the newer 2-packs especially the Dark Avengers.Is the Dark Avenger Hawkeye already out? With the Dark Avengers releasing I now want to find a unmasked Iron Patriot.

Edit: Just spent $135 on some marvel figures. ML Wolverine/Forge 2-pack and ML Mr Fantastic/Thing 2-pack and 7 more MU 2-packs and a MU Iron Patriot. Can't seem too get away from them.

That's Clint Barton. The DA were supposed to look like the real Avengers, so there's only subtle differences like the arms, collar, and I believe the colors on Dark Hawkeye are also much darker than Clint brighter shade of purple.

News from Toy Fair is that ML will start up again next year and return the BAFs.

But the big news for me is the upcoming MU sentinels. Supposdely there will be a variant like Galactus plus a SDCC exclusive deco, which would give us three new sentinel looks if confirmed. Yet another big box to carry around SDCC :lol

I loved the Toybiz Marvel Legends. There's nothing like going to the local department store and finding the new series on the shelves, then rifling through the figures to make sure you get the whole set. I miss those days, now it's just google this, paypal that it's just not the same damn it!

His eyes lost some of their character from prototype to production, but overall he's an excellent figure and so are the others.. I'll take more pictures later, sorry my camera isn't very nice.

Yeah, I love 'em. The only thing I did was swap the helmet-less Thor head onto the older Thor body, they're the same body except the new one has less paint apps. My Hawkeye has a few problems with the paint on his glasses but he's an awesome figure. It's nice to have a new Hawkeye figure in ML.

Are you talking about Return of Marvel Legends? Wave 1 is done, they aren't shipping anymore. I'm not sure about Wave 2. There is a revision case slated for August though, BBTS has it up for preorder. At this point I think Hasbro is a bit of a mess, things haven't really been very logical so far this year.

It was hard to justify buying the Walmart Cap and Thor for $17 when I could get the MS for only $20.

And it's crazy that my local TRU is selling the new ML for $23 each, all I wanted was Cap and just picked it up at BBTS for $12. Oh and I found Daken at a collector shop for $16, not sure if it's common but in my area ML alone is not stocked up.

Ouch, those prices are horrible. I paid about $15.50 - $17.50 a piece for each of my Legends figures. Toys R Us has them at $20 were I'm at, which is more than I pay for MS (I usually get them for $17, rarely over $20).

I wanted all of those things as well. I think the MU Dark Wolverine has a great head sculpt, but I don't like the body they chose for him. I don't like that body period, but he's a different build than Wolverine.

The sculpt for Ultimates Hawkeye that Dave Cortez did is amazing. Lately Hasbro has been shrinking sculpts down for their movie figures, with the 6" version coming out after the 3 3/4" version (ex. Bucky Cap, US Agent), so I hope Hawkeye is going to come out eventually.

If you're still looking, this is how I found the figures.. use UPC code 550333649 (this is the number for the actual case assortment), i went to a store and went straight to customer service and ask about it (gave them the upc #), they gave me the store that actually has it in stock in our area and went there.
The store that has it didn't have it on the shelves (no pegs assigned either), so I went to the online pick up at the back and kindly ask the lady if she can look it up she grabbed the case at the back and got my figures.

That since there were 2 ghost riders at once, Johhny Blaze and Dan Ketch, they made one blue.

The other reason was that Johnny bonded with Zarathos, who has blue flames, thus giving Johnny blue flames.


I am not 100% sure which, if either is accurate.

I just sold my X-Force Warpath, and now they reveal this, lol. Though he isn't a part of the "definitive" version of the team, so it's not a big deal. These three figures look great, it makes it hard to quit Marvel Legends (though Hasbro is still putting out some real let downs). Though these look like the best 6" versions of the characters yet, I can't wait for them to get regular decos later on.

I'm not sure if there are more than one case pack, but I know for a fact one come with 8 figures. 1 Hulk, 1 Hawkeye, 1 Thor, 1 Loki, 2 Caps and 2 IM

Indeed!! I am a huge Archangel fan, and also love the Uncanny X Force so this set is a must for me any way I can get it. I also can't wait to see the X-Men colors on him...gonna be EPIC!!

I think Hasbro ML is probably one of my most anticipated reveals of this SDCC, besides the Matty reveals of MOTU and DCIE sub stuff.

Checked all 3 Super WalMart's here, nothing but a few Caps and Iron Mans. Resorted to getting Thor on the 'bay for about $25. Still keeping an eye out for Hulk and Hawkeye.

Hasbro really needs to step up their game when it comes to distributing their figures. Especially since Wave 3 of Marvel Legends is gonna have some pretty sought after figures, come September.

I'd bet it could be an issue of employees grabbing those 4 before they hit the shelves. I experienced that a ton years ago when toy biz Marvel Legends first came out.

Really part of the problem is these are not a standard product like the average 3" toy lines and such. Being exclusive to wal mart does not mean every wal mart has them or ever will, it's not a standard part of the modular planogram like the other parts of the movies toy line, and is subject to not being included.

Out of all of the wal mart's i've tried in my state (and two others) only one is carrying them, and has actively restocked them, through that one store alone and sheer luck of the draw i've managed to get cap thor and hawkeye while ignoring the re-release iron man. I know the store i personally work at has no modular space for these figures, and even attempting to put the UPC into the system to check availability shows it as Not On File, which means it's something that my store both currently does not have, and does not carry, and until such time it gets some it wont be on file and thus makes it harder to look up in other stores.

So unless you physically see peg space for these things, don't just assume the stores not putting them out, it's all the more likely they just aren't even getting them. Even for an exclusive they are not pumping out heavily and i think that may have alot to do with under performance of previous exclusives, i know my store is still jammed with tons of Power Girl's from the DCUC exclusive wal mart wave, and lots of transformers movie starscream repaints that we just had too many of and didn't sell well enough, so more than likely wal-mart as a whole is being more timid with it's ordering. I know i've yet to see the exclusive TDKR MM gordon, and much like the avengers figures i've only seen one store even carrying the MM figures at all (the same one with the avengers).

So it's a crapshoot, even exclusive to a store doesn't mean guaranteed to be there.

On a side note if anyone doesn't want their little grey avengers bases i'm looking to get some extras.

Not all the Wal Marts are scheduled to receive them. I checked with the toy manager of one Super Wal Mart and he told me they are not scheduled to receive any and told me which Wal Marts in town would probably get them. I found some at a totally different store than the ones he referred me to. I've just been to damn tired and busy to go searching any further. I may just end up buying Loki on ebay. Not sure whether I'll grab a Hawkeye; that costume sucks.

This movie is insanely hot. Remember how hard it was to find Movie Master figures during TDK? This is the same damn thing. Fortunately, you have other options - there is the 4" line and there's also Diamond Select figures. Not to mention Hot Toys. Realistically, I'm not going to waste time and money hunting for these when I can spend it better elsewhere.

I started collecting when series 1 Toybiz ML came out. I would have never complained about NOT being able to find them without putting in that kind of effort.

I actually stumbled upon two full pegs of the Avengers figs today, picked up Hulk and Hawkeye. Hulk because this will probably be the only Avengers Hulk fig I pick up, despite my interest in this scale waning, and Hawkeye because I know some people are looking for him so I may offer him up at some point if I decide I don't want him. I didn't realize Thor and Loki were also sought after, or I would have grabbed them for the same reasons. I actually found them at around 3:30 in the afternoon, but at a Wal-Mart that seems to not be frequented by collectors, or maybe this was just an off day. Stupid *** case packs, too. One of everything but Cap and IM, tons of those two.

This was in Kemah, outside of Houston, btw. I've seen remnants of the wave at most Wal-Marts around here, but this was my first time seeing anything but Cap and IM.

That's pretty much the problem around here. I have been searching for Loki for weeks, but have yet to see anything other than Cap and Iron Man. Persistence might eventually pay off.... but I doubt it. I honestly think the sought-after figures never actually hit the shelves.

I honestly thought the same thing. Especially after I happened to stop at TRU when they got the first shipment of Wave 1 ROML and some scalper was there, blocking the display and yapping on his cell to someone about how they just got them in.

But in all honesty, with all the reports Ive been hearing in this thread about people finding the figures restocked yesterday and today, if I were you, I would check your local W*M now. Granted, Hulk, Loki and Hawkeye and are the ones that seem to go short-packed, but like me, you might get lucky.

Same here. I went to the Walmart near my crib last night around 11 and there was a case on the pallet labeled AVN Studios Series. I opened it up a snagged a Hulk and Thor. I left Loki and Hawkeye behind for whoever needs them cuz my brother got me those 2 over the weekend near his Walmart. So now I got a Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and 2 Lokis. One of them is still NIB and he's my favorite character in the series. Will try to post pics when I get home from work. :)

finally found a set of the avengers line at walmart today, the bad new is it was in the hands of someone joking with his partner in crime "TO EBAY!" "money money money!"

they didnt even take them out of the box from the palette, they just took the whole box with them. probably the most extreme and greedy ive ever seen people act over getting a practicular line ever.

...yah

And we shall all laugh heartily when they're forced to eat them, becuase no one buys them for the 80$ a pop they will inevitably ask.

I show up daily, between 4 am, and 7am, and i ever find is Iron man.
ONCE I saw a Cap. Neither help me, i ONLY want Hulk.
But I'll just be patient. at least around here, Walmart exclusives EVENTUALLY shelf warm. Fantomex has been collecting dust at my local walmart for months now. Someone FINALY bought it last week.

Thats a good idea. I know it should be in the trade section, but I am sure everyone here knows how hard its been for some of us to find these. With the understanding that Cap and IM are fairly easy to find, maybe some of those who have these and find additional an Hulk, Hawkeye, Thor and Loki, they'd pick them us for us who haven't had sucj luck for cost plus shipping.

And I got lucky this past Tuesday night when a full case was on a pallet around 11pm. Only wanted Hulk and decide to get Thor as well since he's one per case. Like I said on my other post, I left Loki and Hawkeye behind for others who need them since my bro got the two that I mentioned above. I went back the next day before work, and Loki and Hawkeye were long gone. Just Cap and IM. I know for a fact they were looking for a Hulk as well. Too bad for them especially if they're scalpers. Hope I mad them cry and whine cuz I beat them to it.:monkey2 :lol :)

Loki is my favorite out of all six. That's why I own 2. Plus, the one that is still NIB, the face sculpt is made differently than all the other Lokis. Everything is the same, but this one has a "real" smirk on his face. Grinning to the right. Literally. And it looks like an evil smirk that he expresses in the movie. All the other Lokis just have a neutral look. I'm so stoked when my bro got me that one and I plan to keep him boxed up until I feel the need to open it and make a scene where he duplicate himself. All in all, I'm done with hunting for awhile till Wave 2 comes out if the rumors are truel :wink1:

I did notice that on all the packaging it specifically stated "Movie Series", which kind of lead me to think they're going to release some figures from the comics too.:clap

Yup. That's the one and would be a good custom to make. She's got the red hair and has the SHEILD body type, but green. Would be real easy to mod her if I had the skills. :wink1:

The Marvel Select version just came out. If u prefer that one, check your local comic shop. :wave
