Stupid Comic Book Question

I've just started to read comic books and I have a real stupid question. I'm reading the original Secret Wars. On a few issues the front cover has bar codes and the rest have a picture of Spider-Man where the bar code should be.What's the difference if any?

Issues with the Spider-Man picture were sold in comic book stores and issues with bar codes were sold elsewhere (book stores, grocery stores, etc).

back in the day they had a different covers for newsstands & LCS

Also should be noted that there were two printings (poss. more) check inside the info bar, if this is a concern to you.

no question about comics are stupid.

It's will say in the writing on the splash page.
