The eyes, nose, lips, face expression - it all looks very movie accurate, as alive. And your painting seems OK for me too.

I definitely need few "Aliens" and maybe one "Alien3" heads, so I will wait for "Aliens" version before make any moves. That could be bomb-like release! :thud: So many years had passed in our waiting of good Ripley's head. :lecture

But I should agree with guys, who say that it should be compatible with new Hot Toys body. We've got great Sarah C.'s body now, without any visible joints in hands. And it's perfect to create new version of Ripley for Power Loader (she's in the t-shirt there).

And I'm saying it even thou I HATE neck joints of this type (HT: Dutch, T-800, Sarah, etc.), but this is perfect solution for the female characters in shirts, really. The neck and chest should looks perfect when we're talking about female doll. :monkey3

Also, I should admit that in Alien3 she has her shoulders naked too. She has no jacket in the final scenes.

And the last thing: making HT compatible you should remember that female characters from HT are pretty tiny, there about 29 cm (11-11,5 inches). So you should be aware to make too huge heads for it. Surly if you will make neck-less versions. I hope you will... ^_^'

So that's all what I'm thinking about this project. I would be very happy if you will pull it all to the final stage. Please, PM me if you have any questions about sizes, need good HT Ripley head photos or anything else.

Best Sigourney Likeness I've seen. Add a wig to her head and you have a great ALIEN Ripley sculpt. ( you can tie her hair up or just leave it hanging loose )

The Ripley body is an older model. The ball joint is the same size, but the older head will not seat correctly on a newer neck and vice versa -- there's a GAP issue. I've already let SnyderMan know this, but I don't know what they plan. Unless everyone here has an older Ripley and wants to keep that body, it might be better to fit it to a contemporary TrueType. The older body's feet are different from newer ones, too.

Have been after a good sculpt of ripley for a while for an original alien figure after seeing fml's one.
I like your alien 3 sculpt, looks spot on to me, not so keen on the aliens sculpt tbh, might look better painted, but look forward to what you come up with for original ripley.

It seems to me that Alien3 sculpt was much-much-much more better looking. The new face-lines looks very wrong according to Movie 2, too sharp. Especially chin. I think that a lot of work needs to be done, but that we'll get awesome head after all. I'm in for 2x. if it becomes better. ;) Also, still hope to see version for Hot Toys, hope that guys will help you to get body for making it. Keep it up!

The more I look at it the more its growing on me.
Maybe by adding some extra scruffy hair, to look more mesy or maybe using real hair might be an option with a bald alien 3 version to get the spot on ripley.

It will be made to fit the HT Ripley or just a standard 12" figure. That is to say, we will do 2 versions.

This has got to be the best Ripley sculpt so far BY FAR!!! Well done!!! I do think that the hair needs to be just a tad longer at the sides and that it would look much more effective a darker shade of brown. Also think that the jaw/neck needs more definition...NOT criticisms!!! just suggestions as to what I think this needs to make it 100% perfect!!!! Brilliant BRILLIANT paint job too!! respect!

I don't see the point in buying a sarah connor body just for the arms, when I'm gunna have to still legthen the legs.

Hi Olbert,

That was just an air bubble that was filled in with Apoxy Sculpt. I am sure you will not be disappointed once you have it painted. Air bubbles are common on the chin and in other tricky places on a portrait sculpt casting from time to time, including in many of the retail resin products you may have in your very own collection.

Mixed thoughts from me.

Jones is excellent, reallly nice paintwork but looks a little too perky for me, a scared pose would be really cool showing his teeth like in the scene with brett, but thats just nit picking.

Ripleys fringe hair looks a little high on the forehead but is really nice aswell, will reserve judgement untill the painted pics are up, great job so far.

I got both my Alien and Aliens Ripley sculpts and I'm extremely happy with the likeness and quality! Congrats to Snyder-Man.

PM me for details but I will say this up front: There will be 2 different flame throwers. The most accurate one requires 2 parts to be made from scratch every time because they are too small.

Not my cup of tea, Aliens figures, but I would seriously like a Jones! The number of realistic cats in 1/6 (to my knowledge) is zero--until now.
They're fab for dios--contrary to dogs--as they just hang around in the background, free to wander in and out of shot as they please.

Hi Olbert,

That was just an air bubble that was filled in with Apoxy Sculpt. I am sure you will not be disappointed once you have it painted. Air bubbles are common on the chin and in other tricky places on a portrait sculpt casting from time to time, including in many of the retail resin products you may have in your very own collection.

Yep. Could be disconcerting to some I suppose, but nothing to fret about. I use Magic Sculp (similar product) to deal with air bubbles that have escaped my anti-bubble routine.

Brilliant job on the power loader ripley sculpt is very good and paint job is excellent, really brings it to life.
My only nag is that she looks to clean and I would personally dirty her up but it is an expensive piece to mess up.

While I'm waiting for my new house to be built, I am going a different collection route from Garage Kits. 1/6th scale Hot Toys and Enterbay action figures and statues are so well done and have poseability and PERS moving eye systems on the newest HT. I'm getting lazy in my old age and don't want to paint models unless really needed! I began with Hot Toys' Jack Sparrow (Stranger Tides) figure set with two PERS likenesses! I'm in love with it!
Enough ranting!
Whether you know it or not Ripley and Siguorney Weaver are my FAV Femmes. I have seen the early Hot Toys Aliens Powerloader. Very expensive now, but after seeing Joy's 3 Alien series, I NEED ALL THREE HEADS!

@cplhicks I'd lengthen the legs on your ripley and maybe bring the head up a touch aswell.
Maybe its the pick but the head looks like its sitting too low:)

If your happy then thats all that matters but a few people including myself have added extra length to the legs by cutting and adding about 10mm with various methods.
Mines quite crude and ugly but you don't see that under the pants.
Sigourney weaver is quite a big bird in real life;)
