Hello, Sideshow!

I've noticed a change in color of the coats used for the 1/4 scale Shreck Vampyre (Nosferatu) and Karloff Monster (Frankenstein) figures to that of their 12" counterparts. While my own research seems to confirm your use of black for the coat of your 1/4 scale Karloff Monster figure, I couldn't find any useful images to understand how you arrived at the color brown for your 1/4 scale Vampyre, instead of the purple previously used on the 12" figure. I'd like to know first if this is indeed a color correction and how this color was determined? Finally, I was wondering if either of the materials used for the coats of both aforementioned 12" figures would easily accept a dye (such as cotton, I'm told) for me to make the necessary color corrections?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello!

I'm no expert on coat color, but I can assure you that our design team scours the world for reference materials when beginning a project, and in the case of the classic horror films, we often consult with well-known collectors and historians like Bob Burns and Ron Borst. We're trying for the most authentic representation possible with the 1/4 scale figures.

I don't know about dying the material on either jacket - frankly, I wouldn't recommend it on the Vampyre figure. If you're insistent, you should cut a swatch from the interior of the jacket and try it first.

Hello, Brant! Thanks a great deal for your help. Shortly after my initial post in this thread I realized that I have a black jacket with short sleeves that came with a customized figure I purchased at a flea market. The look is close enough to the original green jacket to satisfy me and have substituted the green jacket with it until I'm ready to try dying the original. I haven't actually purchased the color version of the Vampyre yet, but intend to, of course (I did once own the SSE version), and may just opt to make my own coat for it so as not to damage the original.

Thanks for your help!
